With a new manager hopefully being appointed by the weekend, we need to hope this will lift the players and all will need to work hard and play well to impress the new guy in charge. The next 5 games we need to make sure we get a decent points return from these games:

Scunthorpe (A) - I would take a draw here
Colchester (H) - 3 points
Hartlepool (H) - 3 points
Portsmouth (A) - 3 points
Doncaster (H) - cant see us getting anything from this game but if we can get a good run going into this game then who knows! if we can get the above points return from next 5 games we will definitely be in with a good shout of play offs as we have a few games in April against teams in and around them places already which would become massive for us

Not going to happen - really we are not going to make the play-offs new manager or otherwise - better to wait now til end of the season

This season is a write off.

Some nice momements, but a terrible start, the inability to keep a lead and a near relegation standard home form has killed it off.

Shame we are going to have to try again next season ( if we still exist ) with a much reduced playing budget.

Exactly!

I stopped reading as soon as I saw you had us down for 2 home wins on the trot.

Obviously based on reasoning upon the back of our 4 successive home defeats on the trot!

And last season we couldn't win away and now we can't stop. Things can change.

Until it's mathematically impossible to reach the play-offs then I won't right it off.

lol it amazes me some of these people say they have been watching football for years, thats the kicker

OP yes it is still possible,i think we need to be looking for 3 wins in a row starting with scunthorpe though

Anything is possible but the teams at the bottom are picking up pts. Hartlepool have only lost one in the last six.

We are currently more likely to end up outside the top 10 than in the top 6

A new manager could be the impetus to end our horrid home run, it wouldn't be the first time a new man inspires an upturn. I wouldn't bet on it, but certainly wouldn't rule it out.

whilst i am sure otis would be delighted with 14th ,i still expect a minimum of 5 wins from remaining games, we need up that to at least 7 though

get them early and the end of season will be exciting

Think now we may end up around 11th.

As I said earlier, our only hope now is a new manager that comes in tandem with a honeymoon period.

10 games left. We need to win 7 of them. A bridge too far I fear.

Here's one for you.
Even if we make the playoffs there is not a hope we will actually do anything in them. It will be the usual bottle job.

Yep, and also have to hope that Tranmere, etc pick up 7/8 less points less than us in their remaining 10/11 games.

Well I didn't want to mention that.

We need to win 7 out of 10 and hope someone fails too.

And Hill is right. If we did make the play-offs I think an awful lot us believe we will simply blow it.

Probably win 2-0 away and then lose 0-4 at home.
