New manager choice (1 Viewer)

I've pretty much made up my mind. So I don't see why we can't be told more by CCFC particularly as they said they will keep the fans in the loop? They have not said they are interviewing yet and as far as I'm aware if Sp back room staff are all leaving/left? How long they expect the process to take and are they considering experience or another relative unknown with lower league record? Are they willing to pay the money to get a good man?

So for me it would have to be Uwe Rossler or Nigel Adkins. Tony Mowbray is not a bad shout but his record suggest such negativity and I can't see his personality having any desired effect.

The others are either in the no chance category (ie: Redknap) or just uninspiring or too risky for us at this time (ie: Wise, Stuart Pearce) Then there's the ones past their sell by date and certainly not what we need now (ie: Peter Taylor, Dave Jones)
I'm slightly surprised though Owen Coyle and Billy Davies are not featured, both with personalities that can have an immediate lift on the club.

Owen coyle has just signed a three year contract at Houston dynama and is yet to take charge of his first game!

I can't see Atkins or Rossler coming anywhere near us. Both still have decent reputations, so will wait for a job with a bit of investment.

Why anyone would believe Uwe Rossler or Nigel Adkins will sit tight and wait for a job is beyond me. There are plenty of managers left on the scrap heap because they don't get offered another post quickly enough. Both Adkin's and Rossler have managed smaller clubs than Coventry City. We may be struggling in the depths of despair at the moment but we are a big club waiting to be resurrected. Those two fit the bill for me and have a point to prove. Thought we would be ideal for them. Mowbray is screaming for the job because he is out of work and still has a recent track record before he is forgotten.

Harry Rednapp has managed smaller clubs than Coventry, he wouldn't touch us with a barge pole either.

The problem is Pax, the tight budget restraints which are only going to get tighter, a demanding fanbase they aren't going to get the resources to "prove a point". There will be no resurrection under sisu, out of the 2 Rossler is the more realistic. Adkins no chance.

Why would we be ideal for them? Apart from the we're a "sleeping giant" argument..

Sleeping giant CCFC your having a laugh. CCFC have won one FA CUP and spent 34 years languishing
in the lower reaches of the Premiership. We had Highfield Road and almost the Ricoh Arena both of which
are much to small (capacity wise) to pay for a hugely successful team, that's why we are where we are
a struggling team in danger of dropping to the lowest league level of English Football.

I agree with you stupot and Rosler I'd take ahead of Mowbray. Others should not be so disparaging about us. We are still a big city club and if you are successful you can raise your own profile rapidly. That's why over 80 applicants are on the list.

I still can't see either Rossler and Atkins being interested mind. Like I said, without the backing of a decent owner they're on a hiding to nothing. Much more likely someone like Richard Money.

I would be delighted with Alexander, a majority of the other names mentioned seem about as likely as the new stadium.

Mowbray has a better win ratio than both of them. But then he was with Celtic who are virtually certain to win every week.
