Sammy Ameobi? Samuel Adjei?

They're the only 19 year old strikers at Newcastle...

Ameobi is 6 foot 4, can't find anything about the other lad, except he's a "Swedish wonderkid".

EDIT: Ameobi is out for months apparently, so not him.

EDIT 2: And is in the first team.

I'm from Darlington, but what I am hearing from the Newcastle fans is that it's a nearly a done deal. I cannot confirm but sounds very strong

Looking at a few match reports seems to be on the fringe of their reserve team and played more as a speedy winger than a target man who can catch pigeons...

LOL. No I tried to reply just "20" but the message board told me I had to make messages at least 10 letters long, hence me having to write 20 years of age. Nothing to do with you mate!

SHHmmee was making the point he had to add years of age to the 20 ,with minimum message length Jon.

Actually he said 8ft6

Just googled to find out about Ryan Donaldson and he's was charged with assult last year. Must be something in the water up there after Carroll and Ranger have both been arrested for something similar!

He’s only 5ft 8 so unless the telegraph had a typo error not our man. Plus he’s played over 10 first team games and not scored a goal. Fit in our team nicely then.

10 starts or coming off the bench?

I remember when people were hoping we would get Kevin Phillips, everybody moaned how he was too old. Now we want to get a youngster in, he is too young and not proven.

a PROVEN goal scorer will cost millions!

Well there was another thread on Sam Vokes who is FAR to good for us comparing him to Kyle and Platt. So I conclude whoever arrives will be criticised.

Looks like Newcastle are about to complete a deal for Cisse, which should mean that this mystery striker will be available to move shortly. Hopefully in time for the weekend.

from my Newcastle supporting mate

it would appear to be Sammy Adjei. He's a good prospect, tricky and quick. Swedish U19 international. Could do well for you, don't really see him as a replacement for Jutkiewicz though...

he's not got any inside info or anything so take it for what it's worth!

The evidence of Newcastle United's worldwide appeal can be observed in the continental flavour of the club's academy and reserve team ranks, and Sweden-born wideman Samuel Adjei is a prime example.
Adjei, 18, arrived at St James' Park from Swedish side Jonkoping Sodra in February 2009 and has since imposed himself on the club's academy set-up, notably among his colleagues as part of the club's impressive FA Youth Cup squad.
The skilful winger represented his country of birth at Under-19 level in a 4-4 draw with the Netherlands in October 2009, but is yet to make a breakthrough to the under-21 ranks.

However having come of age at the turn of the year, time is on his side, and with a step up to the reserve team a distinct possibility this year, the occasional first-team outing in 2010/11 is not out of the question.

About the only information I could find on the WWW

Bet some of you are hoping that if this rumour is true that he will be better than Best, as he was supposedly crap when he went there :thinking about:

Leon Best was probably the most underrated player we've had in the last 10 years.

Problem for Best is he is judged on goals like all other strikers - some 20 goals in approx. 90 games isn't impressive to say the least.

Well, they've always been hit & miss; why mess with the formula? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE_Glg85-60

Used to have City supporters saying he was lazy. Judging him on stats is fine - as is having an opinion, but some fans are just thick. The guy collapsed of exhaustion after one game and always put his body on the line!
