In that press conference it was said the club was not for sale. They also said they need new investment and can't just rely on Sisu. Am I interpreting that right when I think it means they want to maintain 100% ownership of the club but just want someone to give them a load of money?
They are the "successful businessmen from around the world" and I bet they all demand high salaries. Surely it should be them figuring it all out, not the fans helping them.
The council and Higgs should ask for the right price rather than just these guys getting it for a steal. There needs to be a clause that states the owners of the stadium have to own the club as well. Don't want to see the next owners being tenants to Sisu do we?
That is my darkest fear. I thought when they came in they wanted the stadium for the money it could make rather than the club, and owning the club was meant to be a cheap way of getting their mits on it. Then the credit crunch gave them cold feet.
I am a little worried that yes SISU might try to own the stadium, then either take away the profit stream which we need to be ploughed into the club, OR will hold any new prospective owners to complete ransom by demanding about twice what they had to pay for the share. Either way, I feel like we will lose.
I hope Hoffman is a quick thinker, and is always one step ahead. If he is coming up with a contingency plan, he could approach the council/Higgs trust with his propostion, asking them to not sell to SISU.
