Why has it gone so quiet about progress on the new ground?
At the start of the season there was a flurry of announcements coming out from Sisu about potential sites.
I expected news about advanced plans for land aquisition by now to enable the project to be completed in the stated timescale.
Can we have an update please Tim?

Oh for an Ian Gibson.

Don't hold your breath, think you might be waiting a very long time.

I'm starting to think it may be delayed a while yet, probably hanging on for the outcome of the appeal on the appeal of the appeal on the JR. No doubt the plans will be straight out after that in a few years time.

There are certain people on here that seem to know it will be built. Why not ask them what is going on?

Not quiet at all 3 sites (possibly 4?),
Two TF is very happy with and one he's not at all keen on!

This is going to be a very slow process (Cambridge have had 6 planning applications turned-down, according to Clive Eakin).

You can't make announcements before details are 'firmed-up'!

Went to pick up my Shrewsbury ticket today from the new shop on Lockhurst Lane.
While I was waiting I talked to some women working in the office and I didn't know they were employees of SISU.
I slagged SISU off but they defended them saying without SISU where would we be ?obviously they have been well trained !
They reckon a new ground is definitely going to be built but unsure when. They said for me to have faith and they know what they are doing. It shows even they are brainwashed !

So we've got the planning appeals after the JR appeals? This may take longer than a year or so then. Tell you what people will hardly notice that we only play away by the time the ground gets built.

I can see it now "keep Cov in Northampton" protests when the locals see their favourities being ripped out of the community and moved 30 odd miles to the West Midlands. I can also see the FA putting their foot down a threatening a points deduction unless they get a sizeable donation to the ex football league chairman's ben fund. Shocking really

agreed

the same slow process as

1) announcements over arrangements for cheap travel to northampton
2) a new club shop
3) a working website to buy tickets
4) compo for membership seats
5) ground plans
6) a new sponsor
7) showing what they need from ACL to come back to Ricoh in interim

etc etc

Are you suggesting that they will have planning permission before they announce where it will be?

Just listen carefully to what's being said and try not to make too many judgements.

Anything's still possible (even a return to the Ricoh, however unlikely) or even a new stadium (based on the Rotherham 'model', the New York Stadium).

Far too many are pre-judging or predicting IMHO! The usual 'doom & gloom' merchants I'm afraid.

Stay positive, support Steven & the boys PUSB!

Ok, ok
Who is going to pay for this new stadium?
How long will it take to a) get planning permission ? B) build?
Who will own this new stadium?
What will the rent be?
What happens to the Ricoh, the rate payers of Coventry pay for this?

Oh Tony, they are out there, about 1.5k of them to be precise.

The flurry of activity about the new ground/site was just before the CVA was rejected, it was blatant an attempt to try and force ACL to sign the CVA. It backfired.

No way in a million years are the going to build a new stadium.

The stadium will be funded partially funded by the 'commercial interests' of the developer & a mortgage.

3 to 5 years, if it goes ahead?

SISU will own the stadium, they're the owners!

No rent, mortgage.

Who cares what happens to the Ricoh? The Council & ACL are about to find out that they need CCFC much more than the Sky Blues need them!

On (unofficial) behalf of TF

We (CCFC) will pay for a 'bit' - the rest will be paid by lots of people 'around' the stadium 'Primark, Dave's hot dogs etc'
Planning permission / build .......well..........get back to you, commercially sesnsitive etc etc
We (SISU/Otium)will own the stadium
The rent will be - doesn't matter to you, commercially sensitive etc (we can charge the club what we like) - sound of rubbing hands
ACL/CCChave told us they can break even without us (hope to god, they're not telling the truth - if you hear, will you call me)
Coventry rate payers? - not coming to Northampton, don't care.

Love Tim x

Both will have costs involved, a developer or an investor will want money back 10 fold

Impossible, it took 7 years to get planning permission for the ricoh and that was with the council on side.

Sisu will own the stadium, they're the owners!

Yes, and do you think they will not want rent, how are they going to pay the developers, investors and a mortgage
.

No rent, mortgage. Has to be something

They may well find something else may not.

I'm afraid that in this case by supporting the team you are also supporting the owners.
