I think they would be under average also. I don't know how much they are which is why I had a look.

Why is it like debating with a toddler? I looked into it, found averages and like I said I expect them to be under the average. I don't expect them to be just done by the admin girland sent out, there will be checking to do, researching to do, asking to do you get the answer... Not just the price of a stamp is it? Won't they need to be signed off before going out too?

Like I said I don't know exactly how they work but you obviously do, like you knew about the rental deal going back up yesterday when you were correcting people incorrectly then?

It's like debating with a toddler because when I posted that these cost nothing like the average cost instead of just agreeing with me (which is what you actually believe) both you and Grendel try to discredit me because I don't know what the exact cost is. This forum is like debating with todlers because people have so much interest in appearing to win that they even argue against things they agree with.

I didn't actually realise I was wrong about the rental deal till you just posted that, I went to watch tv with my wife after my last post and never went back to the thread, stupots post clearly shows I was wrong about that deal, I was in vegas during the JR, sorry about that.

No, I have never said they are the average, they arethe figures released about fois. I also don't believe they are just a stamp and a few minutes like you say which is why I haven't agreed with you.

You storm in and call people toddlers and silly but you don't actually know yourself?

I'm happy for somebody to somebody to correct when they actually know the answer, especially when I posted a few times saying I'm no expert hence I was asking.

I didn't storm in and call people Toddlers, i did that after having to justify and defend a position multiple times to people who actually agreed with the position.

and you say I don't know but I do know, you posted "Apparently according to Google (may be wrong) each FOI is a couple of hundred quid in costs each.

There are 13 FOI's there...."

You know full well what that post infers and I told you not to be silly. I don't know what the exact cost is but I do know and you do too that these didn't cost hundreds each to deal with.

I don't know though and neither do you, hence I was asking more about them and posted the average cost of one.

You are getting angry calling people names as they won't take your guesses as gospel.

By the time it all adds up though, it isn't a couple of minutes and a stamp like you make it out to be I'm Sure.

and I pointed out that according to your link the average cost is massively inflated by the 5% of requests that amount for 45% of costs. So yes I do know these requests come to nothing like the average cost. Just like if you'd posted the average professional footballer salary is 1mill and we have 25 players so ..... I'd have told you not to be silly there too and I would know that we aren't spending near the average. I don't need to know how much Fleck is on to be able to say with absolute certainty that we don't pay near the average professional footballer salary for this country because of how much that average is skewed by the small number at the top. Just like I don't need to know the exact cost to respond to a letter asking if you've had contact about building a football stadium in the past year to know it's not hundreds of pounds.

I'm not angry and I said it was like debating with a toddler in response to Grendels Fucking hell so you don't know exactly post.

anyway my last post on the issue, it's really not worth any of us wasteing our christmas holiday on this silly debate.

That's the trust's fighting fund gone then. Everyone's pound put to good use for information which has been plainly obvious for over 18 months now.

I've done a couple of FOI's, they didn't cost me anything but on one a superficial answer was given and a price of £450 was quoted at a rate of £25/hr for them to check records and provide a detailed response, I declined the offer, I wasn't that passionate to obtain the info I wanted.

You have to be canny about what you ask.

I don't disagree that the average price of an FOI request is £300 or whatever the link says, but that number is utterly meaningless when wondering how much these FOI requests cost. It's incredibly obvious that these requests cost almost nothing, it's an easy question for them to answer, Your link says that 5% of FOI requests amount for 45% of the costs and that the average foi request takes 8 hours to deal with. You can't possibly think these took anything more than a few minutes

Minimum half a day I'd say. It takes time to draft & check, probably a few phone calls too.

If it is a repeat request with no change in circumstances then the old reply with the date & FOI # changed should do it!

Plus you've got to remember the council are notoriously inefficient, lot of slackers on staff, allegedly.

Surely if someone has to check if anyone who has any connection to SISU or CCFC has contacted anyone at a particular council that's going to take a bit of time?

Well it would be a person at each council doing it wouldn't it unless there is a central place that phones round?

What is silly about it?

Do FOI's not incur costs somewhere?

They do, generally the cost to the council of a compliance manager or three. Not convinced they're the best use of funds tbh (information is not free, if something is not wanted to be released there are ways around it) and it also seems to make modern day journalism a little 'lazy' (present SBT company excepted of course ) in just asking questions rather than investigating.

That said, a no is a no is a no is a no.
