Shame if the bars outside have moved, might be to get rid of can corner.why would they, it sounds like are just moving the beer sellers from by the east stand to inside the hall
dhillons still have their bars inside and the tv, they also have deals to work with other clubs
It was one of my questions to Doug and got read out. But I'm certainly not claiming it as my idea, or that I was the only person to submit that question for that matter!
New fan village for the Blackburn game, not sure who suggested it but should be a good idea!
Weren’t their plans to build a Dhillions fan zone where the recycling plant is?
Piss myself if we extend the £3.60 pints offer to the Blackburn fans when we charged the Brummies full whack
Lets be fair Dhillons was great when it first opened because we hadn't had something like that around the ground for years. We use to go before every game a couple of season ago but we've only be once or twice since the bars outside the ground opened.
The experience at Dhillons (might have changed now) was shite, 90% of the beers tasted the same and were overly carbonated, the toilets are grim, the main room is deafening, the food was over priced and it'd take 15 minutes to get served.
Now outside the ground isn't much better on these points but at £3.60 a pint rather than £6 it's a completely different proposition, one that you're more than happy to live with for the value. And now with the money feeding back into the club I see no reason to go to Dhillons.
They were handy for a pint at half time, going to mean bigger queues in the concourse if they're not thereSo what's the crack with the bars alongside the east stand now
Only issue for me is the ballache of walking around from the south stand

Yes, certainly eased the congestion at HTI had no idea you could use them at half time as well. We are kettled in on the south stand
Wonder if they could open it up for away games and charge a little bit more than a stream to watch. Probably a bit far-fetched but would be another little money maker
We'll don't drink so many then, even if they are cheaper!Piss myself if we extend the £3.60 pints offer to the Blackburn fans when we charged the Brummies full whack

I could see Dhillons pitching itself as an away venue if this takes away it's customers
all Dhillons need to do is get more staff and not charge 27 quid for piss poor lagerSurely there's enough custom for both given the crowds we're now getting?
Should open it up for 9am. All dayer down the CBS.
Doug/the club would rake it in as well.
Yeah hopefully, I was just thinking if it was me and I was losing custom I'd consider it.Surely there's enough custom for both given the crowds we're now getting?
Same.So what's the crack with the bars alongside the east stand now
Only issue for me is the ballache of walking around from the south stand
I mean can anyone blame Doug if so?
Fair play to Dhillons they piggybacked off the club for a while and have done really well with fans and offers etc. But at the end of the day that money was going to Dhillons and not the club
If we hoover up Dhillons business around the stadium then so be it. They will make a decent wedge out of the tavern
True, but people are going to be more inclined to spend with the club now their money is going to CCFCWith a 30k crowd there is more than enough potential custom for both parties to do OK I think
Market competition, what more could you ask for as a drinkerTrue, but people are going to be more inclined to spend with the club now their money is going to CCFC
As I said, Dhillons was empty for the Blues game, they have made pints buy one get one free tomorrow I see so they are obviously feeling the need to entice some people in - I hope Dhillions do not feel too much of a pinch as they did a lot when not a lot of people wanted to be associated with CCFC but I think it is clear the club are going down a different path
Hopefully they keep undercutting each other to the point they are literally, giving away booze for freeMarket competition, what more could you ask for as a drinker
Couldn’t tell from the article, is it;
A) This is instead of concourse and outdoor bars
B) It is this and concourse
C) It is all three; this, outside and concourse
Either way it’s an excellent idea and I’m looking forward to supporting it!

It is a bit ambiguous. To me it reads as the fan zone is open after the game instead of the concourses, which were open as a trial after the Blues game.
“Previously we had the concourse open for an hour as a trial, and this week we are instead opening the Fan Village in the Exhibition Hall."
Doesn't mention pre-game, I think the bars outside the east stand will still be open seeing as they open at half time as well. No point paying a load of staff to serve for 30 minutes.
