Now that it appears that Bright, Walker and Marquis (although he was never truly linked) have either found new clubs or appear to be dead in the water, who would you like to see us go after to complete the squad?

I have no idea, there is no guarantees anyway, we get a lad who scored goals last season doesn't necessarily mean he will do it here, difficult situation, might be best to just ride the first 2/3 games with the current squad and see what needs adjusting.

Looks likely it will be loans here on out until january anyway

Absolutely no idea. Walker was ideal with his pedigree and had proven himself last season.

I had never heard of Armstrong, Bright, Kent, McNulty, etc until they'd signed. Robins' team know what they're doing. They'll see us right, I'm sure.

Is Armstrong still in Blackburn's plans? Would take him back anyday

Sam Surridge could be worth a punt. Not sure if he is what Robins is looking for.

Funny how all these strikers suddenly become “known” once they’ve played for us. Surely players must be looking at that as an opportunity to be in the shop window.

I think Ched Evans, Ian Henderson and Joe Pigott all scored 15+ last season, maybe one of them. Evans linked with Bolton, Henderson and Pigott decent strikers in poor teams.

I've always liked Kane Hemmings, tends to get around 15 a season, Currently at Notts County in the conference so would be cheap.

Evans linked with Bolton?!? If thats the case why aren't we in for him he's guaranteed goals! Henderson would be good but he's old

They must have about 40 strikers on their books at the moment. Isn't Clarke linked with a move to Wigan?

He's 34 (we've been there too many times already) and looks to be on the wane, 4 goals in 34 appearances last season.

Looking through the top scorers from league 1, 2 and National and there are no obvious options everyone seems to have already made a move, been promoted or are well into their 30s

not going to be an easy task. I predict a paid loan from the championship

Gary Hooper is still available after being released by Sheff Wednesday, but with no pre-season it would probably take him a month to get up to fitness.

Not a bad shout that, was well thought of recently. Wages would be high I'd imagine

What about Oztumer at Bolton, always looked decent and plays in the number 10 role. I'm sure he'd be pleased to get away from Bolton too.

I suspect we won’t sign anyone. Robins was saying beforehand that if these didn’t come off he wasn’t going to buy for the sake of it. Suggests he didn’t have other targets.

Robins will have known for a little while that the delay probably wasn’t good news....

I’m sure Badlam has other targets

I just saw Steve Claridge in the city centre Greggs and he asked for his steak slice "to go".

Sounds like he's in a rush to be somewhere. Maybe even join a certain team for pre season training. *wink wink.

Clearly the budget isn’t very big even with the Chaplin million. Frustrating as fuck to not be able to even compete for McNultys or Brights wages. Needs to pull something out the bag going forward or its gunna be another fairly boring season

Come on now, mcnulty went to a team with a 16 million parachute payment that average 33000 a week, we can't compete with that

There’s a striker playing for Dundee united called Laurence Shankland I think he could do a good job for us but he would cost , would like to see Gary Hooper though he is a class striker

I'd still like us to go for James Collins if we could although I think he'll want a chance in the Championship.

For those confused by Walker choosing Lincoln over us Id say that has a more to do with the fact they just signed his mate Grant than them offering more cash. Not a lot you can do if his mind is made up, he may have even said he would come here but situation changes.

the money is 100% there to bring someone in we have just been unlucky with Walker and it looks like Bright isnt coming.

Its frustrating but I trust the management team to have a plan B, not rush

Huh?

Can you provide any evidence to support the points you’ve made?

Agree with this. The chance to form a strike partnership with one of your actual best mates is too tempting.
