I wonder if it might be an experienced prem player, looking to get into management having just completed his badges

Someone like Zsolt Low would be good. Currently unemployed and used to be a defender which is an area we need to tighten up on.

Seriously? Has he got his coaching badges? Has he more coaching experience than Boatang and Carr?

I am not even sure it will be an Assistant Manager or even a Head Coach? There are a number of ways the budget could structure the coaching personnel under Robins? Or though either of those two options wouldn't surprise me.

Let's just wait and see what materializes.

They would have said if Boateng or Carr were coming in as assistant.

I'm usually not ones for conspiracies and stuff but the way they announced Adi leaving was odd. No big thank yous or explanation at all. He signed a new deal recently so it would have been a hefty pay off or he has resigned.

For me the weirdest thing is Robins not making comment, they seemed so close. Just seems off. Obviously he's been in the press with the new coaching staff so perhaps it was MRs idea for a shake up.

Adi was undeniably a key figure in our recent success, shame to leave with so little fuss made. I'm not too concerned though as we do look like a more professional set up now and I have no doubt we could attract so serious talent to the team now.

I can't see this happening, but what would people think of Liam Rosenior? Lives near Mark Robins and took a lot of advice off him when managing Hull City.

What about Stuart Pearce (although I think these days he is happy with media work).?

Rosenior is an ambitious manager in his own right, he’s not coming to Coventry to play second fiddle.

I think Lee Carsley could be a good shout ….

That's why I said I can't see it happening.

Yes Carsley would be a good shout. As long as it's not Mark Venus

He's England u21 manager and probably has one eye on Gareth's job after the euros. As Gareth was promoted from the under 21s.

He had been approached by Ireland to take the senior team job, but apparently turned it down. Would love to see Carsley back but I wouldn't be surprised to see him take over from Southgate next.
Interesting that Boateng is not assistant manager having held that role prior to joining, albeit at international level. If we are to add an assistant manager who is seen as better than Adi to that back room team I think we'll be in a really great place.

Are we thinking the same Lee Carsley who is currently 5th favourite for the England job?

Not sure he'll leave England U21s to become our assistant

He won’t be the next England manager/.

There will be huge pressure on the FA to go for a proven elite manager after this Southgate debacle.

Hardly a debacle given our record in tournaments with Southgate as manager. Yes, the style of play has been turgid but we're still in the tournament somehow.

I think it’s exactly this .

We have a fabulous crop of players, materially under performing and Southgate’s tactics and ability to influence games has been exposed as not elite.

I still think we could win it but it would almost be despite Southgate ….

Yeah, i think the FA will go for someone more proven. Still, Carsley could believe he's in with a shout, and I honestly don't think he'd take an assistant managers job. Wouldn't mind being wrong though.

Eric Black was great here last time and if MR was ever to leave is well capable of taking over......until some muppet like Keys tries to tell Doug that Reid is a better manager.

Eric Black, who hasn't managed in 20 years, taking over from Robins if he were to leave would be a disastrous appointment.

Don't think so, Bobby Gould is too loud it would do Mark Robins head in.
