Since Kodi has pretty much stopped working, I'm wondering which would be the best premium service to get?

Is Netflix available on the Firestick?

I'll be travelling in my new job, so was hoping for something I could download onto my laptop.

But which is best? Netflix or Amazon?

n.b. I don't order stuff from Amazon so the other benefits are no use to me.

So you don't have Prime?

If you don't have Prime I would say Netflix most definitely.

Netflix then. Amazon do make some great shows, but you have to be a Prime member to watch them. netflix is £7.99 a month I think.

I've got both but only have Amazon as I got it on an offer and use the next day delivery a lot.

For me Netflix is far better. Preacher and American Gods are pretty much the only things I've watched on Amazon.

What about Mr. Robot and Bosch? The Man in the High Castle (first series) and Sneaky Pete?

Some very good Amazon Original programmes. Patriot is quite good too.

Watched the first Mr Robot but thought it was a bit strange.

Couldn't get into Man in the High Castle, have Sneaky Pete but haven't watched it yet.

Only thing from Amazon I've really watched is The Grand Tour.

I have both and Netflix walks all over Amazon. With prime you do get the next day delivery and prime music stuff too though.

If you like gritty detective stuff, Bosch is very good. Bit like an American Luther. He's a maverick cop who no-one seemingly cares for too much.

Ozark looks good, coming next week to Netflix. A crime drama. All episodes released simultaneously.

Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. About a financial advisor who has been money laundering for a drugs cartel but then escapes to move away and try and live in hiding.

I have. I am very sorry for giving away the entire plot of a 10 episode series in one very short single sentence.

My bad.

Literally swapped from Netflix last weekend because I think £7.99 for hit & miss on shows (the shows others describe as brilliant may not appeal to you...some of them certainly didn't to me). So Amazon Prime...if you download the Amazon Music App...if am funding shed loads of good music that I would never just buy - but available as & when I want it. And a Kindle download every month. I very rarely buy stuff on Amazon either. For me Amazon every time - but don't watch masses of films or TV tbh.

I have both, so it is hard to judge. Sometimes I forget if I am on Netflix or Amazon for films and stuff because I just use Alexa to guide me.

Netflix: better originals, better selection and works on everything unlike Amazon (no chromecast for example)

Supplement with fmovies.se

That's said, Prime is worth it on its own. So get that for the delivery and music and you get video for free in effect.

I think you'd better bring Alexa home to meet your mother!

It's about a bloke who takes the identity of his dying cellmate and gets accepted by the bloke's family as it's been 20 years since any interaction, with him just being a kid at the time.

Too much information, Hill? Have I killed this one too?

Hope so because that will be two whole seasons in one single sentence!!

I got rid of both Netflix and Amazon. I still use Kodi. I've had absolutely no probs with it at all. Can't understand why Rich says it's stopped working. Are you using a VPN?

Yeah its an Android device at heart so you can just sideload a VPN app. You can also set VPN details on some routers so all devices use it.

Everyone should get a VPN, even if they don't pirate, because fuck GCHQ.

Me and you both. I haven't got a clue. I know what the VPN stands for but still haven't got a clue what it does.
