Was just having a look at some of the national league crowds.

Last week York had 7,316 at home and Southend had 7,754 that unreal. English football is the best.

Years ago I did random non-leagues games for when Cov played away.
Booked train tickets weeks in advance as well as the match ticket
Kettering vs Droylsden
Paul Gascoigne 1st game as a Manager
It was a random experience....you could walk from Kettering end into the Droylsden end with a pint in hand.... Great days they were!

Compare this to the Scottish Premier league and it makes Kyogo joining Brum for 10 million even funnier.

I can remember going the old Nuneaton Borough ground I think they were playing forest green rovers and some people swapped ends at half time.

Yeah that was definitely a thing - used to happen all the time at Leamington Brakes, moving from behind one goal to behind the other.

It is & let's hope it stays that way - especially with the news that La Liga matches are to be played in Australia etc - horrible idea

Blackburn and milwall didn’t get home attendance much bigger than that recently

And if memory serves me right, ours were almost as low at times in the early 80's in the top flight, after Jimmy Hill's all-seater experiment. Banks of cold wet uncovered empty seating on the kop, and we were penned into cages in the West End. Looking back, it's hard to understand why I kept going through it all and never wavered

The Galahticos.

I also hope the two teams have to play both fixtures over there to make it fair. Home and Away.

Nice numbers but also want to mention German football haha(Great grandparents were German and I used to be somewhat fluent haha).

Average attendance in German football is quite high also.

Regardless, just shows again that football is easily the most popular sport in the world!

Went to a game at Moor Green about 20 years ago. Behind the goal that Moor Green were attacking in the 1st half, and then just moved to the other end at half time.

Im yet to go to a Non League game but I've been told its great. Not sure who I would choose to go and see though. Maybe Forest Green to see our boys but don't fancy a half time carrot.

Torquay hit around 4,000 in the National League South. That's the 6th tier, so pretty decent really

Are you Coventry based? Lots of good (relatively) local choices if you are.

Its been a couple of years since i went to Nuneaton Borough, but they were still swapping ends as recently as then....... i think when there were larger or potentially hostile away followings they don't allow it (certainly wouldn't vs Bedworth).

But i remember FC United turning up with quite a lot, and they swapped ends.

Actually I've probably got the timings a bit mixed up there. The all-seater initiative must have enabled the cages to be taken down, but it destroyed the atmosphere at that time, and for some reason people didn't fancy sitting uncovered in the rain in winter

Our home gates went below 10,000 numerous times in the early 80's which is shocking when you look at the level of football and the quality of some of our players. That was actually the period when I attended the most games, 100% at home and many of the away matches too. No need for points systems or tickets - apart from a few really big matches you could just turn up to any game you wanted and pay at the turnstile.

Times have changed so much, and the recent non-league gates that people have quoted above are brilliant.

It's common practice at non-league, makes sense seeing as there's no segregation. Been to a lot where you see a bunch of blokes spending half time untying their flag(s) from one fence and moving it to the other end.

I enjoy watching Torquay because it's old school I guess. Standing terraces ,easy to get a pint at half time and I can walk to the ground. However an expensive weekend watching Cov is better ... especially at present.

If you go further down the pyramid, even teams in Step 5 or 6 are getting hundreds through the gate every week. The North is much better supported, with the Midlands being one of the worst.

I go and watch West Didsbury & Chorlton a few times a season in the North West Counties Premier Division which is step 9/10 I believe, currently averaging 600+ for this season

I like the odd non-league game, I try and get down Tamworth whenever I can who are having possibly the most successful few years of their existence - Real feel good factor around the club at the mo.

Its so high in Germany because its so cheap. You can get Munich tickets for €15 adults and €7.50 for kids this season.

Yes they do. But doesn’t make their level of football any less shite.

I keep saying I'd luv to go & watch whichever team I'm managing in Football Manager in real life because of the experience (I'm Newent manager in the Helenic league at the minute so not even that far away either)

German football attendances fall off big time as you go down the leagues. Yes there are outliers, but England has the same - Leeds and Sunderland 40k+ in 2nd tier.

Nuneaton Boro are in the Midland Alliance (not sure what step that is) and are pulling 400, and aren't even playing in Nuneaton - crazy

I‘m sure the cages stayed up after the West End was seated.
