The latest we had was that Nathan, Shaun Jeffers, Callum Wilson and Danny Ireland were all stalling on signing new deals. Sounds like the agents meddling with things again. It has been indicated recently that they are not far off signing though (I think it says about them in the CT along with the news that Jordan Clarke is set to sign).
No lets not give him a chance - lets slag of a promising kid who's made a handful of first team starts and made a couple of mistakes. He has a lot to learn but he does have the raw talent to make a good player, a little faith, understanding and patience from the fans would be nice.
I remember when Ben Turner made that crucial mistake against West Ham in the Cup a few years ago and some people wrote him off. Those that were patient enough with him though, including the club, have got a great player in the end. Young players always make mistakes, Cameron will need to learn from his and if he does he could easily become a top class defender in this League.
I can see your point and I will probably be proven wrong in a year or so's time, I just feel that misjudging the bounce of a ball on a regualr basis is shocking for a player. That sort of perception should be honed by around 16-18. Maybe with better coaching than Boothroyd's he'll come good...
Cameron was brought in when hoof ball was working. Unfortunately we havent seen this be trained out of him. I do worry when he has the ball at his feet, as i know its goin out for an opposition throw (even when not under pressure) or just straight to an opposition, staying in play. In the air, he is decent. Wins most headers (irrespective of the bounce) and isnt afraid to put himself in the way of blocking shots.
Train the negatives out of him and he'll be worthwile keeping hold of. Definately think our strikers would rather him be in our team / squad, rather than someone elses n they come against him. He is a big guy for his age!
