3 clean sheets in 5 games with Cameron in... We managed 2 in the last 20 odd before that, with Edj playing. He may have had a 'mare, BUT, he wasn't at fault for any of the goals (from memory, I'll have a look at the highlights again) whereas I can attribute goals directly to Edj (PNE 2nd equaliser and MK Dons 2nd goal for starts).

and there weren't 9 other outfield players...?.Edge has not had as bad a game as Nathan did today since he came to the club.....we can debate this all night, with clean sheet data and the such like... but I have in my 35 years hardly seen a worse centre half display than that of Cameron today.... bad day at the office... maybe...?

Sky blues fans optimised in one thread! People have been crying on here for cameron to be given a chance, now he's had an admittedly terrible game, people are telling him to feck off, get out of the club etc. absolute joke. If he were to get man of the match next game, goal line clearances, last ditch tackles etc, the same people would be calling for him to be tied down to extended deals. A lot of Cov fans speak logic and sense but some absolutely baffle me. Bad day at the office, that's it!

Bad day at the office yes but he never learns anything. He looks an accident waiting to happen every game he plays. He cant judge the flight of a ball, allows high balls to bounce every time and is continually the wrong side of his man. For such a big lad he gets bullied constantly.

Cameron had a good season last term and appeared to have matured into a reliable and effective defender.
This season he isn't half the player. He dithers and looks like an accident waiting to happen. He was culpable for Swindon's first and was sat on his arse on the goal line when the ball went in the net.
I happen to rate Edge who wins virtually every aerial battle and tries to play rather than hoof the ball out of defence and needs to be brought back as a matter of urgency.

I'm guessing (hoping) that that comment isn't based on today's game.

I'm not one to have a pop at our players, but Nathan had a mare today.

No he didn't generally he was poor. Two seasons ago he played 25 games. Including subs last season it was 14 and even less this year.

He is poor. Today he seemed to be defending in front of the forward. An unusual tactic.

Unfortunately it seems he Christie and Clarke are going backwards career wise.

I cannot believe that people on here are prepared to come on and defend Nathan Cameron. Please. Give me strength. Here is a man who makes when crewe (yes crewe!) supporters cringe. Jeez.

He's better than Edj, which says something, but it's true.

I felt that before this season Cameron was developing into a very promising and able back up defender and 14 games is hardly ever played?

I would also disagree with your assessment of Christie who has in the main been a fairly consistent performer in this league and offers a lot as a fast attacking wing back.

But I guess that football is always about opinions.

But he hasn't played often enough to be consistent! He's playing an important position. He needs a stretch in the first team to settle himself down. Remember Ben Turners first few seasons? People said exactly the same thing about him, an accident waiting to happen, everyone wanted him out. Then he had a run of 20 games or so and got sold, and the fans go mad! Utterly clueless some people, and I am only saying SOME people. Majority, heads screwed on.

Not wishing to have a go at Nathan, but Ben gradually got better and better.

Nathan was looking great two years ago, but seems to have taken several steps back. It's true that most players need a run of games to show their best form, but he has played in the last 4 (?) and today was, as they say, a really bad day at the office.

Yep agree. And turner seemed to have 1 or 2 extra assets - pace and height (2in taller than Cameron). Cameron still seems to be making the same mistakes I.e letting the ball bounce.

he does look like his career is regressing, and I agree that Clarke and Christie haven't developed as well as I would have hoped.

Why does Camaron keep allowing the ball to bounce in front of him which causes him no end of problems, surely that should have been coached out of him years ago.

Most worrying centre-back since Andy Pearce

Yep - that was even an issue when he was first brought into the side under AB, and he doesn't seem to have eradicated it.

It was a poor performance and we certainly rode our luck upto the calamity that was their first goal... NC did stand out as a player way below the required standard, but as fans we should still respect him as a man and a player at our club.

Opinion on his capability and performance is one thing (and in my opinion valid) but some comments on her are just plain disrespectful.

Edj should start with Martin v The Iron

I have to say I've never been a big fan of Cameron and yesterday cemented why yesterday. He was truly dreadful. If it was possible to give minus figures I would. He can't tackle, pass, track back. And for a big fella he is shrugged off the ball so easily. He has no awareness of what is happening around him.

The decisions of a caretaker manager is always interesting. They drop who they don't feel is good enough and they put their favourites in. Obviously he likes Cameron but really yesterday should have proved to him that he will never be good enough. Edj should be reinstated.

And Carsley? Crap decisions. One up front. Sticking with Cameron. Stick McDonald on when it was too late. We got battered for 89 minutes and "Carso" didn't have a clue. Bring anyone in, I just don't care anymore. I just hope the new bloke brings in his own team.

I am not a big fan of any of our centre backs as footballers, think Edge is a top bloke who interacts with the fans exceptionally well but all, fundamentally, as players lack positional awareness, lack pace and don't win enough in the air. For me it's our weakest area.
