To be fair 5 of dabos wins were in the first 7 games of the season, which was part of the electric start we had 22 points from 11 games (2 ppg)

His stats coinciding with the poor form since then 22 points from 19 (1.16 ppg), dabo has 3 wins from 12, which is not far off Kanes record, which suggests the form has dropped off anyway, and Dabo being missing has had negligible impact on that. All bar 3 of Kanes starts have been during this period. That said Kane has been terrible the last 2 games.

We should recall De Costa P2 W2.

Points per game is the dumbest way to measure players. Might as well look at average attendance when playing.

Not sure I agree with that. I realise you're being flippant and of course for a right back is far less relevant, but I think for a striker it can tell part of the picture.

*edit - especially one who contributes to the team but who has a goal record that isn't prolific (a bit like Cyrille) where I imagine the record would be much better when they play versus when they don't.

It’s just too course grained. Too many confounding variables. And it’s the kind of analysis that lead to people claiming Liam Kelly was better than Sheaf.

I’m entirely open to the idea Dabo is better for us than Kane (certainly on Kanes current form). Though I’m worried about rushing Dabo back from injury given previous attempts. Getting all three players who can play there injured is extraordinary bad luck.

That was entirely my point, PVA listed dabo v kane based on wins stats to prove conclusively we are better with Dabo (im not saying we are or not) but its far too nuanced. Hence me breaking it down to show his win rate is not that much better in the side whilst the team has been in poor form as a team.

Robins has mismanaged his injuries appallingly over the last 2 seasons which is why he keeps breaking down. He shouldn't be rushed back until he is 100% fit.

And quite rightly so, how can you possibly expect to achieve anything if you set the bar so low.

Aim low, get results. The mantra of Tim Fisher and lads out on the town.

I've told you to change your name it wont have the same clout now as you thought it would. Maybe change it to "Bidwellisgod" for a few weeks. There's a good lad.

Third time you’ve said this and I still don’t know what you’re on about.

Try harder.

I have to agree.

@oldskyblue58 might be better placed to chip in here as it's more his remit but there are liabilities which the club simply can't pay off without a pretty big injection of cash, that can only really come from a player sale/s. Namely debt/interest owed and there's of course the EFL loan looming over the club's head, which has to be paid back within 3 years I believe but I could be wrong about that without double checking.

We should find out the position 31/05/21 at end of this month that should give indication of the current situation.

The owners interest gets rolled up but the initial need to sell players is simply to build a pot to operate the team ie wages let alone purchases. It's how MR establishes a budget. Interest gets paid after that. With a big player sale then it's highly likely the budget for players will be established at a lower level than total funds so funds can be extracted for the owners

Yes the efl loan is repayable over 3 years. Which impacts cashflow and therefore MR ability to operate in the transfer market.

Crowds are bigger but so are costs in particular wages so I doubt there is much put by for next season. Player sales in the summer seem inevitable simply to keep going
