My fight in Coventry (2 Viewers)

Alright everyone my name is River Wilson-Bent I’m a 9-0 (5 kos) professional boxer from Coventry looking to go all the way and on Friday 10th September I’m fighting at the Coventry sky dome for an international title.

I want to bring boxing back to Coventry and put our city on the map. It would be great to see as many of the sky blue army there as possible on Friday to follow my journey.

Fair play, good lad.

Be nice to get the bandwagon rolling for this lad and eventually the CBS, always more affinity for local boy done good in the same way Bellew at Goodison or Josh Warrington at Elland Road who has a great football following singing Leeds songs.

I remember following Dean Pithie, he had a fight the Friday night before Villa away, it was at the Sports Centre and absolutely packed out with Cov's finest and the most notorious rogue's gallery I've ever seen in one place.
Atmosphere was electric, which needless to say carried over to the following day.
And to top it all off my mate's dad was on the bar, so free drinks all night.

I was hanging on the Saturday morning, was going to knock the Villa game on the head.Fortunately I didnt.
Not only a great result but one of the worse refereeing performances I've ever seen from Uriah Rennie.

Loved that era of Cov boxing when we had Pithie, Evatt, Simpson, the Payne brothers, Andy Egan etc. Shame it never really kicked on after that.

Ritchie Evatt was unbelievably powerful, he had some stunning knockouts, unfortunately died a few years back, it was certainly a good era for Cov boxers.
Remember a great night at the Sky Dome with "Simo" headlining amongst two or three others

99% certain that 'Tiger' was on the Bill and probably Mark Payne, I think most bouts had a Cov lad involved.
It was a brilliant night, atmosphere was insane.

Knew Rich personally. A lot was said about him but I have to say that I always found him sound.

Devastating puncher and his fight against Junior Jones really was the key to his career. If he had won that I think he would have stayed on the straight and narrow and gone on to achieve big things. Sadly he didn’t and the rest is history.

Currently sanctioned for English title in November, was supposed to be Nathan Heaney but his camp didn’t take the fight. Get Friday out the way and hopefully fight once more before end of year with whoever wants to!
