so....

At the risk of hopefully falling flat on my face, I will share my bet with you.....

On the 1st game of the season, I put £10 on Leicester to beat us....

I vowed to keep going and putting the winnings on the next match, until I got the feeling that we would not lose a match...

If I lose, In my head, I lose my £10, If I win and pull out at the right time, I will get my season ticket for next year paid for !.

So......After 3 defeats, I have £85.70 on Palace to win tonight at 11/10

I am seriously thinking about pulling out of this AFTER tonight as I fell we might scrape a draw in our next home game.

Would still rather the 3 points tonight though

hmmm, not sure about this, i think we'll battle for a draw tonight, those odds are hardly worth the risk IMO.

Almost evens for a palace win?! Talk about writing us off! I wouldn't bother with that bet either, doesn't seem worth it, even if it's only a tenner.

Interesting

Just till xmas hmmm

Well, to put all of your minds at rest.

If I do takeover, I can promise you all the following..

1) a free CCFC keyring with all season ticket purchases
2) Free tickets to school as a punishment for bad behaviour
3) instead of the halftime "shot from the halfway line competition", we will get Juke out to try and get on on target from inside the box
4) Instead of a railway, there will be a tram which goes direct from the Ricoh to the Weatherspoons in town

Any other suggestions will need to be submitted in writing !

I do this sort of thing but always use half the winnings so if you lose you still have money to put on the week after. I don't bet on cov tho. I try find good odds for a particular game. Tonite I've bet on Rotherham away to Crewe and MK Dons away to someone can't remember who. Both cracking odds. I saw palace at evens and considering they've got ambrose, Murray and iverson injured I think they're shocking odds!! Think cov will pick something up tonite

I hope you win mate, Keeps my bet alive to, 10 games without a win, 3 1/2 games down and looking like I have a decent chance of winning.

good old CCFC, never let you down when it comes to betting against them.

dont know why more fans dont do it, better interest than a bank account.

If they win, your happy, if they lose, you win money.....

So, £180 in the bank from the £10 bet. Thanks boys.......

Another 9 defeats and the mortgage is paid off !

The only person who has something to be happy about.

I wanted to find a live bet to bet on us to lose at 90 minutes!

Nick, I would much rather Cov won tonight.

I LOVE gambling and play the odds.

Simple fact is that we havent finished above 17th in the past 5 years, so the odds are that we will lose a LOT more than we win. It doesnt mean I dont hurt when we lose, but facts are the for punters, CCFC are a money making machine.

Read some stats a few weeks ago saying the best possible return for a "double" if you had the same bet every week last season would be "CCFC to lose and Crawley to win".

It was on Betfair mate, I saw it at 38/1 just before they scored..

Normally that weould be nearer 100/1, but they are obviously aware of CCFC !

Just ask if I'm about - can always lay it for you, although knowing how I run I would probably stand it and end up paying you myself

Same as any other bookies really, but you're betting against other punters rather than a bookie and pay between 2% and 5% commission to the site on a winning bet. However, so much liquidity that they actually set the prices now -most books are close on 100%.

you can bet to win, or "lay" which in effect mean you are the bookie, so in simple terms, on the 90th minute, Crystal Palace were 38/1 to win the game.

So, you could bet £1 on palace winning (as you normally would) and you would have won £38.

Or

You could LAY, meaning that You would say "I will take a £1 of someone elses money" because I dont think Palace will win. So, if CCFC win or draw, you win the £1 that you have taken, but if Palace win (which they did) YOU would have to pay the winnings, ie £38.

All betafair do is take a small commission on the winnings.

So would it be possible to say bet on us to to win 4-0 on saturday at 10-1 then lay the bet off at 8-1?

It would if someone is offering those odds. You can only accept or invite really but not choose your own

Yep, if someone is offering the odds.

In reality, If you bet on 4-0 at 10/1, then there was one, or two early CCFC goals, the odds wouldcome down to 5/1 - 6/1 and thats when you would lay, meaning you had a bet on teh mtch and couldnt lose !

I had a double once, but rather than disappoint them both, I sat in the corner and let them get on with it whilst I pleasured myself.

Congrats btw - what did it return?
