A blow, not just because he's a great player but his dressing room presence is top notch. Farewell but with fond memories.

One question, while we are hoping to bolster the squad aren't we still running at a loss and if so surely Doug won't want to keep funding it himself, or is that totally wrong?

We will want payment in cash though, not turn of the century impressionist paintings.

No way FL sanctions this move unless he has someone else all but agreed. We need cover at RB and need a CB in this week. I can see 3 more out, which will make it a busy week, which i dont think is ideal.

Why's it not ideal? The window doesn't shut at the end of the week

Can’t we just play him on Saturday and then he can go after that to give us a bit more time for KKH recovery?

How would any transfer deals get done on deadline day if players representatives could start discussing terms until clubs had agreed terms?

Agree means sign a contract

You don’t risk him if we’re going to sell him for big money. It was telling that he started on the bench the other day as Lampard put out the starting 11 for Hull.

Just hoping he goes we can get another right back in I don’t want to see Lati strutting his stuff down the right side or any other side.

That'll reduce the fee somewhat.

Nothing can be guaranteed until Luis Binks starts following Wolfsburg’s socials.

I meant not ideal preparation for Hull.

I dont mind the club model or the way we have dealt within the window.

Would be a good move for him and hopefully we get a decent fee sorted. Think they signed Souza from SU recently?

Got a feeling some signings are being held up because of MVE sale,
As soon as we signed KKH, it was inevitable the club had allowed MVE to move on. KKH is too good to be sat behind MVE for a season and is arguably better than him right now.

Personally, MVE shades it but KKH is younger and probably has a higher ceiling.

If we get the fee we want for MVE, we’ve done great business if we get KKH and 2-3 signings out of it.

I think the deal to sell MvE was done weeks ago, (before we signed KKH) and was waiting for us to secure a replacement and to strengthen the squad elsewhere. It will be telling if we announce his departure and bring in a couple of new faces at the same time.

For sure. Probably a situation like Hamer in 23/24 where he told the club he wanted to leave and we allowed it but at the right price.

KKH wouldn’t have came to us if he was going to be competing with another player all season for a starting berth.

We were never ever going to be in a position to have 2 very good right backs in our squad . KKH was obviously signed as MvEs replacement
Wish him all the best as he's been a model professional and a huge presence around the club

Will also free up money for areas within the squad that need addressing

Doubt Greg Sandiford is ready to be the backup so this would leave us with 1 RB as per last season - need an addition.

Bit too much noise around this one for it not to be true? On the surface some of the sources look reputable as well.

Genuine question but will a player bought in specifically as cover be significantly any better than Lati ( or Eccles for that matter). But we will have spent to get him in.

Surely the additional right back is a younger potential signing, not quite ready for full season but dipping in and out, - we were linked with olise at Chelsea (heard that via agency) and another young right back name escapes me.

Can't talk directly to the player. So they talk with agents/3rd parties. Bit of a farce.

Hope not. Players enjoy it, most fans seem to enjoy it. The odd fan doesn’t but you don’t stop popular things to satisfy that group or you would stop everything, including the football most weeks

Not seeing any speculation on any Wolfsburg sites about this ,but doesn't mean it cannot happen.

MVE is no doubt good at this level but is quite flawed defensive. Quite often loses his man or switches off. It's cost us some important goals.
Hopefully our full backs can be tighter defensively. Including JDS who is still a worry.
