Not to worry. That wasn’t his injured leg…

When we turned down £5.5 million or was it Euros from Turkey, it was reported we wanted £8 million which sounds about right. Think his last club have a sell on clause.

This is what we needed to kick on. I don't see KKH as a downgrade, a really smart signing imo. We can't afford to sit on a £12 million plus RB, the only shame is this wasn't done sooner (and still isn't done) so potentially we've missed targets.

How can a personal agreement be made but nothing agreed with us?!

You are not allowed to approach a player so you approach his agent who liaises with his client (the player). Get all their ducks in a row then start dicking the club who holds the players contract around.

It's been going on for years and let's not pretend we don't do it.

And how do you stop unofficial talks happening? Bug players/agents phones? Hack their e-mails/WhatsApp messages? An agent just casually discussing what a client would hypothetically like to earn in terms of wages is hard to prove as contractual discussions. If he put their demands in the public domain what are you going to do?

All you can do is not officially sign a contract until terms have been agreed between the clubs. But the details of that contract could have been discussed ages before.

We do it too.

How many players have we had say they heard of our interest weeks if not months before any deal was concluded.

Personal agreement has been made with Isak but no fee yet agreed by Newcastle with Liverpool

£8m + sell on or £6m plus a bunch of add ons plus sell on I reckon.

As long as it frees up some room to make the additions we need, one of which is a new RB.

Players are free to discuss terms but can't agree them. It would be a very difficult process with lots of wasted effort if everything had to happen sequentially.

For the best, hopefully now unlocks 2/3 quality signings for us. However right back now also urgent, especially so given KKh injury!

LCB, RW, RB (back up) main positions needed

A 10 is also needed then striker IF we can move one on. (Would also like progressive/dynamic 8 )

If we do sell him we will need to bring in another RB, so I can't see us letting him go until a replacement is in the building. There's still nearly a month to go till the window closes remember, so we have some time to get things sorted.

Ornstein was saying the other day that most Transfers involve an illegal approach to the player but no club ever reports it (bar Forest) as they’re all doing it

Bare minimum should be £10 million plus add ons and 15-20% sell on, or else forget it.

£12 million, add ons and potential sell on clause is probably the most realistic.

Great, £2m on a new RB and £10m on Doyle
job done.

How would any transfer deals get done on deadline day if players representatives could start discussing terms until clubs had agreed terms?

I would not be surprised if signings are lined up as a consequence of the MVE money if he goes

Hopefully, we have already identified where this money will be spent ( if any ) as prem quality loans , will leave money in Doug’s bank account, hopefully for the final pieces of the jigsaw in January ?

If it’s Lati at RB on Satdee then so be it if the MVE deal is what we’ve been waiting for to bring others in

A superb move for him! If we get £10m plus for a player who is far from the finished article it’s good business

He's not worth anywhere near £15m

Even £10m would be excellent business. I think it'll be less.

Regardless of the fee we should put a hefty sell on clause on him. He's going to develop further over the coming years.

No way FL sanctions this move unless he has someone else all but agreed. We need cover at RB and need a CB in this week. I can see 3 more out, which will make it a busy week, which i dont think is ideal.
