We know he is a Shiite Muslim because the German Interior Minister told us he was. I never said he was religious or motivated by religion. It was the Munich police who called him "David S." for reasons which are pretty obvious. The rest is pure speculation.

Funny, De Maziere said yesterday that the fact that he is called David could be a sign of a possible conversion to Christianity. When and where did you hear De Maziere saying the opposite?

I was quoting from Wikipedia who in turn were referencing an article on CNN:

Seriously, you are clutching at straws.

No, you are. De Maziere said clearly that he had no religious life and the family may have converted to Christianity after coming to Germany based on them giving him a Christian name ( some refugees do ). There is evidence to say he was planning a mass shooting of young people and they have found a manifest ( as with Brevik ). The attack was on the anniversary of Brevik's attack on young people in Norway. He said himself that he was German and born here in response to racial insults. No mention of Allah there. But you want it to be ISIS. Sorry just some fucked up kid with no religious life. I gave you De Maziere's quote confirming that.

Please don't put words into my mouth.

I already said he was Shiite which rules out any affiliation with ISIS.

He was a Muslim who claims he was bullied by other Muslims and he made a point of targetting victims of Muslim appearance.

That's a very long way from anything Brevik did.

He had Brevik as FB profile. He wrote a manifest like Brevik. But, yes he admired other shooters such as the one from Menningen. Shooting young people and writing a Manifest is not so far away from Brevik, and doing it on the anniversary may be a connection . But without a political motive. He lived in a migrant area. He was not religious. The opininion here is that the victims were by chance ( one was Greek ) and not by religion. That is also De Maziere's opinion. ( as at yesterday)

The reports I've read suggest that nearly all the victims were of Turkish or Arabic appearance (if not actually Turkish or Arabic) and they were all in an area where Turks and Arabs were known to congregate.

I suggest the reason so many victims were young was that Ali claimed to have been the victim of young bullies himself whereas Breivik was already in his thirties at the time of the massacre in Norway.

The Macd was in a migrant area, he lived nearby, so it may be chance that the customers looked like turks or arabs. Not many white Germans to choose from. We need to read his manifesto. The reason the 'state' refers to him as David is because that is the name he is registered under. He used Ali on his FB side.

A crazy Syrian has just killed a Woman worker in a Döner shop in Reutlingen - with a Machete.
BMW driver stopped him by running him over. Is known to police.

I'm not sure why people turn such a blind eye to it? No doubt people will be called racist for mentioning it.

Who is turning a blind eye to Reutlingen? The guy seems to be a cxxt. No doubt about that. I don't know if his race or religion caused him to run around like a madman though. Wait and see what comes out.

Is this referring to Reutlingen or Munich? If it is Munich, it is speculation to call him a 'muslim' because his parents were when they fled Iran, to say that there is an 'obvious' reason for the German State to call him David ( other than that is the Name he is registered under ), to say that he singled out anyone who looked like a Muslim ( Turk or Arab ) in a Café full of Turks and arabs and which was his local MacD, and to say he didn't base his Plan on previous mass shootings when his bedroom was full of articles, photos and Even a book on 'Why Kids Kill'....

But go ahead blame him being deranged as being because his parents are muslims and refugees from 20 years ago - it fits some agendas on here better.

He was a second generation Muslim immigrant living in a country which would never accept him as a German. He was never so deranged as to not understand that.

I think he was deranged partly because of that. He said 'I am a German, I was born here' his almost last words on this planet answering a racist comment.... Not a German and not a 'real migrant'. Bullied, screwed up his exams, never really accepted here..... Had a phobia about meeting people... Maybe we will learn more if they release his manifesto- but I don't know if they will. That would reward him by giving him a posthumus platform.

If you went to a Middle Eastern country and behaved like a normal Westerner, do you think they would accept you? No, they wouldn't - you would have to abide by their laws and customs and even then you'd always be an 'outsider' because of your light skin. Why do these people expect any different when they come to Europe?

You can't help but feel huge sympathy for the German people. They've had this massive muslim immigration forced upon them without any consultation and now they're expected to live with the consequences and accept it. Well I can tell you from talking earlier today to friends who live there that they won't accept it. These are good people with young families who suddenly are looking over their shoulder and viewing everyone with suspicion. And it's important to recognise that Germany, unlike the UK or France have not participated in the military action in the Middle East. Yet due to the utter madness of Merkel now find themselves targets. They find their country transformed virtually overnight by the utter stupidity of their leader.

The right idea, but the wrong way to go around it.

You can't open the door to millions of immigrants from third world countries and expect there to be no concequences.

You have a different group of freinds to me. No-one is happy that there is a war going on, but many of my friends are helping refugees and my daughter's Grand mother has a Syrian family staying in her Granny flat.

I don't want to get drawn into an argument, but as with Brexit it seems, when it comes to refugees there only seems to be two sides of the fence rather than any kind of diplomatic middle ground.

Whilst there are a lot of refugees desperately looking for a better life, and trying to escape the war that is going on at home, there are also a lot of people using it as chance to exploit the system and take advantage, whilst having absolutely zero respect for laws, way of life, and particularly women.

There is mass immigration going on, and a lot of them do happen to be Muslim. So whilst I don't agree with everything Ernie says by any means, he is raising some valid points, as per the above.

The sad thing is Nick, due to the way things have been in the last few months, even if this is an actual terrorist attack, it'll probably get reported as a gas leak or something like that.

Fingers crossed there aren't many casualties. Can't see anything on BBC yet so it must have literally just happened.

What should be different in six months that might not have happened already in the last 2 1/2 years since the start of the so-called "refugee crisis" ?
