He will stay here this time, he doesn't want to make the same mistake again, besides he wants to emulate Jimmy Hill and take us back to the top flight.

I think that's naive. I mean if you think about any o our jobs, we would not want it to be any harder then it can be. We'd also like a better pay packet. IF Birmingham can provide this then we could be in trouble.

Football is full of people with egos. I think he wants to see this through. We'll see.

There's absolutely no evidence of that at the moment, although clearly we would be much better off playing in Coventry.

The league rules state 3 years and I don’t see this being supported again.

Birmingham have no pedigree of premier League and are the eternal championship club playing in the shaddow of Villa. Currently in all sorts of predicaments too.
Coventry regardless of their financial difficulties (which too many make of) are a far better option and prospect. I fully expect a deal at the Ricoh to emerge, and what's not to like for MR's in total control of his own destiny here with us, and a track record to take onwards and upwards if he can? He has the owners ear, backing and support. With what he and Viveash have established I fully believe in their ability to make us very competitive in the championship. We will finish well above Brum!

the deal where we rent someone else’s ground and still don’t get access to the revenues we need ? Even if it did, it’s a mear sticking plaster. We need to generate Non gate revenues to compete at this level

for what it’s worth, I don’t think we have to be worried about Birmingham vacancy. Others In the future maybe, but not Birmingham.

There will be negotiations on these revenues you speak of. We are a championship side now, bigger crowds, and we are not going to hand over 100% of those revenue streams. Having us there will bring in better sponsors and a string of other advantages for WASP. Try to think outside the box!

I agree with you 100% as long as we are playing at the Ricoh next season - I think it will be as low as 50/50 if we have to play at St andrews - Think little comments here and there off MR have given no doubt we need to play back in Cov or i fear he will be off

From my comment, I mean I have spoken in depth to someone very close to Mark Robins last summer. I Was reluctant to say because I know how wound up people get on here regarding WUM, which I’m not.

when I spoke to this said person i was amazed by what he said

I suspect whatever MR was feeling 12 months ago, he can only be happier now than he was then. Therefore comments from last summer will be somewhat out of date. Edit. But yes, I'd like to know too!

Ok, I’m not claiming to be in the know or anything like that, just passing on information so take from it what you will

Basically this guy was a close family member to Robins and he told me that Robins is worshipped by the board and he has a lot of input and influence Into everything that happens. The board would do everything in its powers to keep him. Basically he is a god to our powers that be and is untouchable

Iwas also surprised to be told his salary was well over £360k a year.

He wouldn’t be surprised if he was moved onto the board at some point down the line

Like I said, not one for shit spreading, just telling you what I was told so take from it what you wish

If he did go would you give Vivash a crack at managing us assuming he didn't go with robins?

not sure. There are similarities with 97/98 when Strachan was the manager but Alec Miller was seen as the real coaching & tactical brains, and when he left there was a feeling we would be in real trouble. As it turned out we didn’t lose another game, he failed as a manager and eventually ended up back as 1st team coach at Liverpool having great success. it’s not always the case that tactical & scouting nous makes a really good manager, there are lots of examples (Peter Taylor maybe being the most obvious), likewise there have been plenty of successful managers who didn’t have a strong tactical brain. Personally, I’d say that when you’re looking at a long hard season aiming for survival, a good all round manager is likely a lot better than putting a good tactician in there.

Depends on if Viveash wants to go down that route. It seems he enjoys the coaching side of it and managing gets in the way of that. Might just enjoy being the No.2 - gets lot of input but little of the hassle and media.
