I dont blame them at all if the WASP club is close too liquidation and some council offers you a stadium thats worth £40 million+ for a very reduced price of £20 million I would snap their hands off

...and move your club?

You wouldn't just cut costs, and accept that the club can't stand at the level it sits at currently?

If I were owner of a sporting club my prime motivation would be maintaining it as club, with all its sedimented history that goes with it. Then again, that's what differs between me and Wasps and CCFC's owners - maybe that's why I'll never have the cash to actually deliver on my aim, eh. Profit before culture is what's destroying sport in this country.

If the demand for top flight Rugby Union is in Coventry, we have a Rugby club here to deliver it that's been here far before Wasps...

That's the problem, why are Wasps saying SISU dropping legal action against CCC is a requirement for talks to take place over a deal between CCFC and Wasps?
And why did they start negotiations and then suddenly stop?
I'm convinced that it had nothing to do with legals and everything to do with delaying talks go put the club in a position where it has no choice but accept a significantly more expensive long term take it or leave it offer.

Well there was the mental proposal for an all-singing all-dancing ground there. Maybe we could resurrect that...

neither can I CD but the scenario I described would make it seem a CCFC/SISU decision to go and turn down an acceptable deal on the surface of it .......... even if some would always see it as that in any case........ The FA/FL may accept that but the CCFC fans might see it differently which could have serious implications

Of course, if it came down to it Wasps will come out with "We offered them a great deal" and job done.

Fans wont be interested in what the actual offer was, just that we didn't / couldn't take it.

You are right, NW. Joy has appointed a succession of incompetents to the board. Her judgement is highly questionable.

No, it was a temporary location before they moved back to London. At least that's what their fans were constantly told.

Remember before the Northampton issue Joy Sepalla didn't know ccfc existed, that's been admitted by her, once the adverse publicity and Government involvement occurred she got involved. The football club football wise means nothing to her, her appointments have simply not delivered on all fronts, why she continues with having a football club on her portfolio is a puzzle.

Thought they wanted to build a stadium in Wycombe but Wycombe Council stopped it ? I suppose I need to read their forum to get the real facts.

They wanted WW to stump up for a new stadium they didn't really need that Wasps would also use.

Really? Why is it when people were coming out making rental offers (like Michael did), when asking about the terms, numbers and small print people got angry for that being asked. Same as when people questioned the Hoffman one.

The majority of people won't be interested in the deal, just whether we are at the Ricoh or not. The small print and the terms won't be of any interest.

Wasps could say "rental deal for £1*"

*ha as if, it's going to be a million

And people will quote it as £1, skipping the terms.

It's our concern if the consequence is to loosen the intrinsic ties of sporting clubs to place.

Really shows how much we are again between a rock and a hard place. Sisu continue to be a bunch of incompetent lying b******ds, whilst wasps, the council, and others are seemingly making it impossible to stay in Coventry. We're (the fans) again stuck in the middle being shat on from all angles.

Talking about their decision to move wherever they went. Our concern now has to be getting a regular home to play our football in and continue to be in the FL, chewing the fat on and on about where and what Wasps should have done solves nothing. We the supporters should be very much on Wasps case and sisu's case loud, publically and often where we stand. There is genuine concerns which is why imo Jim Cunningham MP has raised it.

Agree, every side should be pressured. The council come out and make statements demanding money, but nobody really bats an eye.

No they haven't.

People are either being naive or just a bit simple.

"ah they said they want a new stadium, get the fuckers kicked out ASAP"

If we are talking about face value, surely the council should have turned Wasps away because they wanted to move to London?

It was one of several moves, but still within reasonable distance of their original home, you know London. I take it you will support CCFC when they do the same. Perhaps you can buy some land near Rushden in prep for more parking

Wycombe was a stupid move, too.

Rugby clubs have made some stupid ones... they mostly end up going back home in some sense though.

Or, in Richmond's case, finding they couldn't sustain a top tier Rugby club so reforming at a lower level, and returning to their roots.

Now *there's* a model that should be welcomed.

I agree Wycombe was a dumb move. Moving a club from its home due to the vanity of its owners......that story is a little familiar!

Its interesting to see that Saracens eventually kicked the Watford ground share into touch and moved back home to their newly built, and perfectly sized Aviva stadium. It amuses me that despite all their boasting of untold wealth etc Wasps fans bleat incessantly at Saracens and their success. As they say jealousy is so unbecoming

But Nick some people will read every word and scrutinise every statement and offer, but the
Majority of supporters form their opinion based on headlines, buzzwords and hearsay that's
How it works, I'm not saying it's right, just that's how everything works.
Not sure why you don't / won't grasp this.

So you are agreeing with what I am saying then aren't you?

All it takes is a headline saying "Wasps offered an amazing deal" and the majority of people will only read that and not question it.

It's not Dick Turpin asking demanding it !!!
It's what they calculate Sisu silly court cases have cost them that they can't retrieve.
Why deal with them again if everytime it costs them money ?
Sometimes you need to take off your Sisu glasses, step back and understand the reasoning.
