Best of luck to him. Some of the best football we've seen here in a long time and he even let us dare to dream before it inevitably came crashing down. No hard feelings from me.

If he keeps Chesterfield up that has absolutely no correlation with his disastrous recruitment policy here.

He totally buggered up here, he may have learned his lesson at Chesterfield.

It would be if he uses Mowbray's players. Not going to happen though. He's already made an improvement up front in bringing Beavon in and already made an improvement in defence in bringing Clarke in.

Slade has already done in a couple of weeks what we wanted Mowbray to do all summer long.

I agree he's made his mark in the transfer window and I'm looking forward to seeing more. I am slightly perplexed from the love in I've seen so far for Slade though. 2 points from 4 games & the Bristol Rovers performance is up there with the worst I've ever seen in my time following City. Not just the scoreline but the performance as a whole.

I'm not slating him by any stretch & will watch with hope over the coming weeks & pray for an improvement, but it appears the majority of our fan base are treating him like some revelation. 2 points in 4 games, there is work still to do. I think it annoys me more because inevitably the same people loving him will be absolutely slating him in a few months time. I wish people would learn perspective.

You really need to deal with this Mowbray fixation, it's not healthy for a young chap like yourself to become so attached to an older man on this way

All this defending of Mowbray, had had about 4 decent months with us in total. We were shit in the second half of last season and made no improvement at the start of this one, it was the correct decision for him to go. Following on from that and the disaster of Venus then Slade needs a bit more time to be judged.

Times must be hard at Chesterfield, at least we don't get our new managers to bring their own football to training. Probably.

Are people actually acting like he's brilliant or are they just showing support for him?

ive noticed it being a bit silly. like ooh yeh just what we need when we sign a 33yo or whatever. when they know how henderson and hunt etc worked out and love to mock those signings.

hypocritical really.

Fucked up totally in the summer. The CT did not help with nightly stories of players we never even got close to signing raising false hope among the more gullible hopeful fans, but he choose to speak to them and made himself look incompetent.

We are reaping what was (or not) sowed now with Slade trying to do a pre season in January.

So 4 draws, 2 wins 0 defeats for Blackburn under TM so far.
Did they make a shrewd signing?

With Marvin Emnes and Danny Graham up front they should have been no where near the relegation zone.

To be honest, whatever happens there won't change my opinion of his time here.

Mystic Meg just told me that he'll keep them up, have a pretty decent season next year but not quite be able to get them over the line, then fall off completely the season after.

I've no idea where she gets these crazy ideas.

And how wrong were we on Slade?

Bloody hell we didn't see that coming at all did we. Already mentioned on a other thread, most were happy with him and expectations were he would at least turn us round.

All he did was make us much worse.
