Full pre-season and I think he'd do well in this league. I'd imagine we'll be offering a deal way below what he's recently been getting and might just be an option if he can't get anything better back in Germany.

Seen him a couple of times last season, didnt think he was that bad in all honesty, just gotta trust Moggas judgement I guess, could work out a decent bit of business.

So 22 Goals Andy Williams is free and available on the verge of signing for Scunthorpe, Bury sign Clarke and Pope and we try to sign this guy, something dont add up here, maybe fitness was an issue, but the budget does not sound great at all.

It doesn't say anything about the budget

At least TM has worked with him and seen him train. He has obviously seen enough to believe he can get a lot more out of the German. TM knows how he wants to play and what sort of squad he needs. If he feels Proschwitz fits into that plan who are we to argue. To be honest it doesn't matter who you sign there are no guarantees with footballers.

There's a YouTube clip of his goals for Hull but I can't get it up. Some impressive strikes ...

with a full preseason and decent wingers who knows not exactly what i hoped TM's first signing would be if im honest but its getting on a bit we need to start making moves waiting for the right talent is great and all but we need a team on 17 ready for preseason

Err, not that one where he had the chance that was all but a sitter and his shot almost hit the corner flag.

I'm all for giving him another chance, but he lacked pace and was forever snatching at shots when he had chances.

Maybe he was just going through a bad spell, cause when I saw him in the pre match warm-ups he was dragging just about every single shot wide of our keeper.

His goal scoring record in England has been abysmal, but I'm not going to fall into that trap again after DMC proved us all wrong.

If TM sees something in him I guess we have to trust his judgement.

If you use your noggin it does, De German would not be on much, Examples used are better strikers than De German and yet we not even made an enquiry, why?

If Scunny can afford Williams who scored 22 goals last season, then how come we are not interested ?

Its ok doing it in training and maybe he was not fit, but if we have top 6 ambitions he certainly is not one I would be considering to deliver this ambition.

I think it mightly unfair for people to write him off. TM is now building HIS team and if he feels that Proschwitz can do the business then he has to be given time. Hull would not have paid 2.5million for him if they had not seen something about him, and on the plus side. If he hits form his value would shoot up to the 2.5million again rather than 200,000.

Suppose he will be a cheap option of the 4 strikers he wants, with maybe 1-2 more expensive ( wages wise) to come on board via free or loan.

Suppose just have to wait and see, might been lacking fitness before, but the jury is still out on this one, worked hard, so maybe fitness and better service, might see a better player.

The German who is contracted to a Championship club and was previously at a Premier League club. I doubt he's on less than Clarke or Pope.

Lots of players out there so some are going to have to lower their wage expectations, TM has seen him everyday in training so must see something in him, he did look to lack confidence but an early goal in the season and you never know worse players have gone on scoring runs.

More fair given most of us have seen him, then half the signings we make judgements about.

God, of course I hope he turns it around but... we signed Lee Mills after he had a cracking loan spell and then he went to pieces. this one? He had a pretty shoddy loan spell if truth be told - as a try before you buy it was hardly a vote of confidence.

Yes he was dire. When people starting giving him high ratings on here I think they must have been on LSD.

He's been pretty awful for a long while by the look of it.

Not inspiring.

Ashdown why are you showing a video of a missed penalty and saying ffs? The greatest players that have ever played the game have missed penalties..

Ok for argument's sake lets say hes lowered his expected wage from 20k a week at Hull to what 5k at Brentford ( where he has just been released from) and is now on a par with Pope ( reported to wanted 7k a week at Vale and Clarke ( who lets imagine is on the same figure) , who would you rather sign, Pope Clarke or Proschwitz ?

Maybe I am being harsh on Proschwitz and he would be a better striker with proper service from wide areas and a fitness regime to match as he was no where near match fit, but it just does not shout top 6 striker to me that is all.

Maybe TM feels he can get the best out of him, but to me its a cheaper alternative to other better strikers who have / are available.

Hull would have still being paying some of his wages as he had 12 months of that contract to run.

Yeah, I thought so too. No world beater but did work hard and seemed to get in the right positions and was often unlucky with his finishing - he was nowhere near as bad as some make out. keiran Crowley said that Mowbrays convinced he will move back to Germany and score 20 goals next season.

Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with that, I'm sick of the telegraph telling us what we should do. Fuck off.

Whatever he was on he ain't anymore and if he's thinking about dropping to L1 he will know what the average wage is. It' a pointless debate.

Not if he's the biggest wage earner - then it's a waste of money.

It's up to TM if he thinks he's worth it.

Maybe so but i would guess Simeon Jackson was a high earner last season and so would have been Nouble.

Personally, If he was at the top of the pay levels I wouldn't want him.

Interesting that he was high on Pressley's shopping list.

Wonder if Pressley were here trying to sign him on a permanent deal, if people would be quite so ready to give the benefit of the doubt.

I accept he got into good positions and lots of effort but wasn't a target man and also has no pace, for him to work we need pace on both flanks but can't hopefully if he is signed there is room in the budget for other better faster players.
