Maybe if you buy them we'll have enough money to sign someone!

Well... it seems TM's ambitions are to not rush to buy players.

Mowbray has already said that his main concern was over infrastructure and backroom staff - he has not indicated he expects a bigger budget than Pressley had.

indeed anyone hoping we are going to spend more than last year are going to be disapointed, all we can hope it that it's spent more wisely, if anything it sounds like we'll spend less

I always feel that if the Euros or the World Cup is on, we are often more patient on the transfer front, as we get our fix of football into the summer.

Sadly when there is no football on, we are left with tennis, the most god fucking awful sport, which I suspect leads to some fans impatience for signings

Spot on, when he was in talks he said it wasn't about the budget. Even if he's starting from the same budget he's been clear he wants to use some of it on things other than players such as changes and Ryton and bring more staff in. Can't spend it twice! Thats why I was hoping the trust would pick up on his comment about the fans helping out at Ryton and get something organised as any money saved there will be more money on the pitch.

To be fair to SISU they have said we need 11K turning up, if that doesn't happen I'm not sure anyone can really complain given that they've been up front about it. Now if 15K turn up every week and there's no increase in budget then there's something to complain about but I don't follow the argument that denying the club revenues by not buying season tickets is the way to get them to spend more.

Who cares when we sign players? As long as we have at least seven in before the final week of pre-season then it's absolutely fine. No rush at all.

Season tickets are only £249 each. He shouldn't need to get a loan.

Jesting aside this is a main reason why they have not sold many more ST's. A lot of people are paying for holidays and getting their spending money together. Not everyone has spare money sitting in the bank to pay for everything in summer plus for a ST. SISU should make it a top priority on a monthly payment. Maybe charge a little more to cover costs.

Do not agree Astute.
A lot have not bought season tickets yet as want to see if or who we get into the squad. It's great having a decent manager but he is nothing without players.
Soon as they announced we were coming back to the Rocoh my wife and I went out and got ST again, not going to fall for that again. We want much more than promises, we want a team that can at least compete.
i want to see our owners get some trust and respect back from us supporters, so many have moved on and done may never return.

I said a main reason. Not the main reason or the only reason. We all know that some will be waiting to see who is signed. There were many that bought a ST last season to find that we played very poorly. They didn't bother using them. We have others that don't trust SISU to do the right thing. There are many reasons. But ignoring that many have tight finances....especially at this time of the year.........will cut many off from buying one.

I just renew mine cos I support Coventry City.

Personally I wouldn't make a decision based on who we bring in. Happy with TM as manager and we are going to try and play good football next season. That's all I want.

Yep, we're on league one, there will be no marquee signings, most of the players we'll will be relatively unknown. I think those waiting to see who we sign first before getting a ST are going to be disappointed.

tbh I'd rather they were obscure but sane (i.e. filling a need) then going for the usual CCFC trick of players living on a past reputation.

We had an ample enough budget to compete last season,

Also they all return very easily for one off games.

You should be encouraging fans not spouting ill informed melodramatic rhetoric.

We all wanted TM right? I think we should all stop drama queening and let the bloke do his job. It's summer, think about something else and let him do his thing.

Why should I encourage anyone to do anything?
As for spouting ill informed melodramatic, what's all that about?

What the fuck are you lot on about, Mowbray has just come back off his holidays ffs. This bloke is a seasoned manager, well respected and admired by many, contacts galore, m y bet is he has been on the case for new blood since the day he came here, players will be lined up and i suspect possibly still abroad on their hols. He has agent contacts and working relationships with top Prem managers. Training starts July 1st. A number of youngsters have been secured. He knows who he wants and i suspect so do the players he is after of that i'm certain. Just celebrate it is Mowbray and Venus conducting transfer affairs and not that idiot Waggott.

First England game is against France on Tuesday at 6pm and is on BBC2. Will probably watch the England games but not really bothered about the rest of it.

Yep as you and Wingy poiinted out, the Womens world Cup is on.

Sadly I wasnt really aware as it does not get the same press coverage as the mens, and I didnt know until yesterday that it was on. Looking foward to watching it, especially with my 9 year old daughter who is a player for her local team, and hope she enjoys watching and learning how the pros do it.

I still f*cking hate tennis though.

If you look more carefully you will see that it is only a small minority that expect him to put a full squad together in a few days. He has said himself that he is in contact with several agents and players. There are several of us saying that we don't want to see the same mistakes as before as in signing too late just before the season starts. This is not having a go at there being no signings so far. There just needs to be a balance between signing the right players on the right wages and them having a proper pre season and the players getting to know each other and how they like to play. The last thing we want is a bunch of unfit players that are strangers to each other. That could easily give us a bad start. We need to trust TM in knowing what he is doing. And from what I have seen from him so far I have faith in him.
