Is Paul Chaplin the mad one who had an account here for a while?

We were looking to get Ricketts in for the tailend of last season alongside Reda (yes, on loan I know but we'd have paid a chunk of wages), why does it suddenly make a difference now that Mowbray wouldn't have both in?

Guaranteed that this guy doesn't know who Ricketts is, and because of that, he's crap. Has only heard of players that play at the top end of the Premier League and THOSE are the players we should be aiming for!

Would like to sign two centre backs, just worry how it impacts the likes of Willis' development. Of the two would rather have Rickets than Reda.

I think it's the TM philosophy. Have the youngsters being around good older pros like Ricketts and Turgey will encourage the youngsters. A year for Willis and Harres to be around Ricketts could be such an education for them

Without wanting to sound too ageist he is 34 in October, still younger than de Zoo, Sherwood & Kilbane who had their final playing failures at CCFC but hopefully his lack of playing time over the last few seasons should ensure he is in reasonable shape.

The squads Lacking experience so 34 so what as long as his legs aren't gone, will benefit Willis, Stokes, Haynes & hopefully he'll have an impact behind the scenes.
Tudgay for all his faults last season was winning praise from players and staff a like for what he was doing in and around the squad.

So Ricketts, Tudgay & tough experienced CM would be a great spine & assets to a young squad.

Would be happy with Ricketts and reda however if this stops us getting any quality further up the field then i would opt for just one one. We need consistency in the back four so i would go Ricketts, i think we have sufficient quality there already for this league.

As for that Chaplin muppet on CT, why do people think we are going to sign £4M players still!!??

Not as convinced with Ricketts as everyone else apparently is. Was poor on loan for Swindon at the end of last season and turns 34 in October, if it's a choice between the two I'd much rather Reda. Still as things stand we need experience so I wouldn't be against a move for him.

I think the corner flags have more ability than Jim O'Brien.

That's okay thought because he runs around a lot aimlessly

Did Mowbray leave in the end? I forgot to look in all the excitement.

Not a big difference in Webster to Ricketts in my opinion, SP hard on was Webster, TM hard on is Ricketts, if he sign's will end up with the same opinion by the fans... Good career, made the most of his talent but not what is needed at the minute, early days but we don't seem to have not much in the way of flexibility in the market...

Ricketts has had a more successful career than Webster and overall has been - and still is - a better player. Add to that the fact that one is a full back and the other is a centre half.

Pressley may have stuck with Webster, but I'm not sure you can really call Mowbray obsessed with a player he hasn't actually signed yet.

The best bit about all this is the fact the CT can cobble together a whole article on a player we haven't and may never well even sign. Wankers, but you gotta love 'em.

Currently our defenders are:

Phillips
Willis
Martin
Stokes
Haynes

We need two more centre backs there if you ask me, so Reda and Rickets (who are both versatile would be perfect OR one of them if we can get Pennington back on loan. Harries is a development squad plater as are the KE twins.

We need a central midfielder, two wingers and two strikers. 7 additions in total...

Not saying Webster is a better player, just saying both are the managers hard on's and both will end up with fans having the same opinion. 33 years of age and both at ends of careers, both been internationals, for second tier countries and although you say ricketts is a better player both are not the best.

Why do that though? What a knob like thing to do.

He is an experienced head who isn't Andy Webster, can't see him starting 46 matches but should be an invaluable addition to the squad should he sign.

How though? Webster is a Pressley signing who he kept in the team despite him becoming the fall guy for defeats; Ricketts is a player Mowbray would possibly like to sign.

Do clubs normally announce targets? Well maybe to calm bitching impatient fans?

Reda seems reluctant to sign, so,maybe talks with Rickets is like, make a decision or we are moving on!

Who knows? But signing anyone seems a slow process. Let's hope the wait is worth waiting for?

Agreed its a promotion signing if we get him. I saw that Swindon won't be offering him anything so hes ours if we want him enough

It would be a good move for everyone involved. He only lives down the road and would be captain of CCFC. Mowbray is a big draw for players.

A very speculative spine of Kirkland, Reda, Ricketts, Tudgay isn't a bad start for this division....
Chuck in jacobs plus a nippy striker on loan and suddenly looks v good.

For those that don't know, Sam Ricketts is a full back.
