But surely he has to say something doesn't he? Sounds just like a simple reply to a question that is going to keep getting put to him.

He has to react to all the media speculation and have a plan b in place and he must especially be looking past January anyway, when it's odds on we will lose him.

This will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

The more the likes of the CT keep saying he is going back and bringing it up in interviews the more noise it makes.

Out of sight out of mind. Just keep quiet and let things take their course rather than keep prompting them to take him back.

I'd expect nothing less than thorough 'pre-empting' from TM, he's always been the man with the plan. The article doesn't necessarily mean AA is definitely heading back, it could just be TM reassuring the fans.

AA will go back to Newcastle when they want him to.

In my opinion, beyond that fact you're 'story stretching' ...driven by a second fact; that the media having nothing solid to write about.

Isn't it also a tad obvious that TM has a plan in place?

Some people call the CT 'lazy'. In actuality, they're delivering what some people want; a waste of 10 minutes.

If we are still top of the league, or somewhere near come January then recruiting a replacement for AA (if he doesn't stay obviously) won't be a problem. Plenty of good, young strikers not getting a game in the prem who would jump at the chance of helping us get promoted. Mogga has proved he has an eye for talent so im not worried.

until things are agreed TM is right to have a few alternatives in line. I think there is more chance of AA going back through injury rather than being recalled to Newcastle, so there is another reason for having a plan B.

Newspapers always have and always will feed off this speculation, it is not unique to the CT like some on here like to make out.

when fans immediately post these nothing stories on football forums and create a heated debate....it sort of justifys the publication of the story in the first place.

I reckon that he will be here until the end of the season, try to ignore the franchise's mouth-piece. The Telegraph is an embarrassment to the city of Coventry. After all their huff and puff when they joined the Bring City Home campaign (a year too late), their refusal to question the move says a lot; their backing of bringing CCFC home appears to be nothing more than a publicity stunt.

The news would be welcomed by the overwhelming majority of CCFC fans. You would no doubt be hit financially, but I am sure you would survive.

Not a reader of the Telegraph generally (don't buy it and rarely visit the website) but on this occasion, I'm gonna agree with Andy Turner. Whether Arma stays, goes, gets injured or wins the lottery and retires from football, lets just enjoy his ability and the fact he's wearing a Sky Blue shirt for now. If TM has to employ "Plan B" then I'm sure he's got a list of replacements he would like. Worrying about it now does nothing but build negativity.

<<flame retardant underwear applied>> And on the subject of the CT, I know some on here don't rate its level of journalistic quality but I'd like to thank Simon Gilbert (and to a lesser extent Les Reid previously) for at least coming on SBT and communicating with us fans. Having visited a lot of the other League 1 clubs forums, we're in the (very small) minority for having a representative of the local media present.

Back on topic, I see McLaren has had a bust up with some senior players according to SSN.

Defeat away to Palace this week could be the final nail in his coffin. A new manager might have different thoughts on letting him continuing his eduction at Cov for the rest of the season.

Great point made here.

Best club in this division and most respected manager in this division, so in theory will turn out fine. So AA staying is very very preferable but not absolutely essential.

This is from a North Manc at heart Sky Blue as well.
