Somebody, somewhere is REALLY panicking, thinking league 2 might be a real possibility.

Wow if its only till end of the season, what is the point of taking charge just for 14 games of this season? Does not make sense at all. Although I guess It goes with SISU's policy of Loaning players this season, so why not a manager too?

Are you actually for real? Maybe do some research before you make such idiotic claims. "Without any real success" - going from 22nd to 12th isn't successful at all. Neither is signing some of Middlesbrough's best players at the time for pittance. You carry on chap.

Idiotic? Very good. Clearly you don't have high aspirations then. For me success is actually achieving something. Bit like lambert at Norwich and Adkins at Southampton that's success.

Does seem short, but it's not a bad thing. Just over a week ago people were complaining that our previous managers contract was too long!

Really? can't be right surely - why would he bother. There goes the thought of backing him for next season (if this is true of course)

Didn't see that coming with only to the end of the season, he's probably been offered a big bonus to keep us up and then they will get try and get someone who will buy into the academy/youth model in the summer.

Surely that's the club covering their back incase he doesn't keep us up. If he does maybe auto extension???

Says they will reassess at the end of the season a longer term deal, could be possible the short term deal was just to rush it through quickly as there are still some issues with a long term deal. Surely if he does well he will be off to another club anyway if he's out of contract?

Hope they've got some sort of agreement in place to extend it. Knowing our luck he'll come in and do really well and then someone else will take him before SISU sort his contract out.

I can't see him bringing in all his staff just for 3 months.

Given the current situation of the club it makes sense to me , if we finish well then a extension may be offered , if not CCfc will not lumbered in L2 with a big contract to pay for which will kill any new signing money

If it is true, this is a gimme. Cunning bugger. Who was it talking of a lotto win. I'll bet when that phone rang ,and he'd hung up thinking it was a nuisance call; he redialled and realised his numbers had come in.

Maybe Mowbray press conference at 1:30 will shed some more light on it.

Maybe not a bad thing perhaps - just depends on the fine print of his contract/ption to extend (if any). And yes - 4 years was too long, as has been proved.

It sound like he will become permanent if he avoids relegation. Nothing out of the norm here.

Stop panicking guys.

So winning the championship isn't achieving anything?

Wake up and have a look at where we are in the table, our owners, our situation. Then consider if we could get the likes of adkins .......... ointlaugh:

I'm sorry he didn't get West Brom to 1st in the premiership.

He said extending at the end of the season is a two way thing. When asked if we would automatically extend of he kept us up.
He also mentioned only 12 points from the play offs

He's a cracking choice of what was realistically out there

BUT I hate to be all doom and gloom but I think we will stay up with Mowbray... but with this arrangement I can see it being highly likely that he will be off back to the Championship in the summer.

Reading his interview with Andy Turner on the Telegraph online;

"I’ve been on a sabbatical after a tough job at Middlebrough but I have been ready to get back into the game over the last few months,” he said.

“We all want to manage at the top level and I want to one day be managing back in the Premier League. I did it in the Midlands before and I’ve managed in the Champions League and Europa League.
“Do I want to be at the bottom of League One? No, but is there an opportunity to take the club and achieve something."

That sort of gives the impression, that he has his sights set on greater things, in the near future..

Surely that's the unspoken aim of any manager.

Very True. But just think it sounds a bit like he'll be pissing off first chance he gets! Which I obviously hope he doesn't..

There's something not right about this deal.. surely Mowbray would be on a lot more money than Pressley!? I'm not one to guess at wages, pie in the sky, but surely he'd be after 8k-10k and that would be a lot more than Pressley? :thinking about:

Very good manager to get in our circumstances.

I would have preferred Rossler. His record is immense and includes success in our division.

However I have been surprised to hear Boro fans still talking fondly about Mowbrays management which is very encouraging.

Plus with our current plight and the bad PR from the pathetic move to Northampton this is quite a signing
