he didnt get a season

the Celtic board knee jerked after that 4.0 at St Mirren IMO

I think that's a biggest enough reason. Bit like drawing 2-2 with Sheffield utd and getting the sack. Knee jerk was it? Since 2009 what success in terms of trophies, promotion etc... Has he achieved?

Rosler would have been a much better choice for me.

Tony Mowbray was dealt a poor hand at Celtic, took over from Gordon Strachan and had to get rid of a lot of highly paid dross that Strachan had accumulated and I think Rangers were the dominant team at that time and that takes its toll up there, then he moved to Middlesbrough, low and behold following Strachan again and saddled with a number of the players he had got rid of from Celtic, so another poisoned chalice for him.

So he was dealt two poor hands and got the sack at both places without any real success. So maybe 3rd time lucky here but his track record with teams rebuilding isn't the most convincing.

I gave one option, I thought many of the last 12 were going to help us, we've only gone one way in those 10 or so years, and thats not up!

Rosler was also one of my choices. But, what exactly has he achieved in terms of promotion, trophies etc?

Under our circumstances and the lowly position we as a football club are currently in getting Tony Mowbary as our manager is quite an achievement when you think about it. Has a good CV, bags of experience and will handle Waggot if needs be. Certain he will have been given some assurances and also believe he would have asked certain questions and done his homework on the happenings at city. So my feeling with this appointment is positive. I do have one concern though....I thought this about Peter Reid !!

That or Mr Waggott had to use a lot from his wine cellar. Maybe that was the delay; canny bugger.

Last night one of the local journos, can't recall which one, stated that even if it was agreed last night any announcement might be delayed to today for Sky to be there for any press conference. Not sure how accurate that is but sure it will get some coverage.

2 wins in 12 games. Results business - so he got the sack the same as what happens with every other manager. Would you consider him a flop then if you consider all the facts?

Totally agree, no problem with that, comments such as the following however are not needed:
"Some kid on a Play station then?"
"The most economic route to Oldham?"
"i bet you're a bag of laughs at a party"
"Anyone with a world cup win and a few premier league titles would do him fine."

The last 12 years suggest he will not be a success here, I would him to be, but this is Coventry City when do we have have success? I will support him as much as I have supported others, week in week out. I am just not conviced he is the man to change the fortunes of Coventry City

Christ don't come and work at my place if you think those comments are bad ...........

I hope so could do with some pertinent questions being asked to Steve Waggot, can't see any of our local journos, Eakin, Poole, Turner etc doing that.

Exactly my thoughts. It's not like Brentford collapsed without him .........

Don't get me wrong I think in our situation he would have also been good, but I don't know whether he would have been as amazing as everyone was making out.

Are you actually for real? Maybe do some research before you make such idiotic claims. "Without any real success" - going from 22nd to 12th isn't successful at all. Neither is signing some of Middlesbrough's best players at the time for pittance. You carry on chap.

Fair play for getting Mowbray in! Good work! He will do well and needs times. The club owners have done a great deal.

I think this is a really postive appointment. Hope he gets the appropriate backing for next season, with priority now of course, to make sure we stay up.

Really? can't be right surely - why would he bother. There goes the thought of backing him for next season (if this is true of course)

It's probably just so they can have their cameras there. Doubt they'd be given free reign to ask questions, probably more interest in the fact Mowbray has a new job than Coventry having a new manager.
