Then it all comes down to how far out of Coventry doesn't it?

Unless you are one of the 'not one centimetre outside ' brigade!

I am fine with just a few miles outside, but we would have to be pretty damn close to Coventry.

As I said elsewhere, the massive new area earmarked for development between Tollbar and the airport, proposed by JLR. No further from the city centre than the Ricoh, but in Warwick District.

Close enough to Coventry for me and it would still very much appear to be IN Coventry to most I would say.

How big is the woodlands school site.
Would an academy been deemed as fitting the educational criteria?

I think there is a covenant that it has to be used for education

No it doesn't - council have said they cannot control the sale. Looks like they've found a buyer haven't they?

Woodlands is within the city boundary, so CCC are the planning authority. They'll not block a plan for houses over CCFC

I thought we had two options. build a stadium on the land tim has identified or beg favours off people we take to court. Let me see what the best option is? Beg favours wins.

Not sure I was under the impression a legal covenant in place which requires the site to be used for educational purposes?

You have classrooms at an academy

There is already sports halls gyms outdoor and indoor pitches there.

Agree entirely. Woodlands would absolutely make a great site for a football academy - but it would be even better as a school. But apparently we don't need any more schools, even though the City's population is growing. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it goes to housing, even though the unbuilt areas of the school are actually green belt and there's a covenant protecting it.

Where the kids from the subsequent estate will go to school is less clear. Probably a converted office block with no playing fields. We live in strange times.

How about Vegas? Oakland Raiders look like they are moving to a beautiful new stadium there and they want a 'soccer' team there as well.

Raiders, my other chosen team. I've even been to see them. I can pick 'em, eh.

As long as it makes business sense that's all that matters.

If you're travelling from Cov I don't think the move will make that much difference to you

Absolutely. And if I could ever afford it again it would be cheaper for hotels too. But it won't do much for Oakland, a not particularly well off, working-class kind of town loses a core part of its identity and a big income stream.

Sounds familiar somehow.

St Louis Rams are moving back to LA, so St Louis Sky Blues could be an option?

Negotiate a one year move with the FL elsewhere. Somewhere closer than Northampton. Whilst desperately trying to find a closer solution such as Hinkley town or Nuneaton. Where they would need to develop the stadium Just to even ground share temporarily. Then eventually try and stay their permanently.

Question.

Originally the Butts had permission for greater capacity than it currently has. I assume that's lapsed?

Forget the deal as mooted in the press, the Butts always struck me as our Withdean - temporary stands and an 8,000 capacity while we look for somewhere. Frankly, that could well be our best option at the end of the day because, unlike many here, I reckon we're dead as a Dodo as a club once all avenues have been exhausted. There is a choice other than moving us out the city if that direction is forced... but it's not a very pleasant one for us either.

Unfortunately when it comes to a judicial review over a legal point. The courts are very black and white as well and not very grey scale

That's a fair point. The revelation of a media assault against the club from CCC has been whitewashed, because SISU lost said court case.

How do you get the leaseholder to change his mind in the Butts?

Is that an issue if it's a temporary ground sharing, rather than a permanent collaboration?

I believe so Millerchip I believe had the final say. I think he has said he doesn't want to do business with the football club he wants to go a different direction.

He can go his different direction if it's just temporary though. Far less intrusive as the scale (and permanence of the erections, phnar) is totally different.

I know what you are saying mate but I believe he is saying the football club are not involved in his future plans for the site, short or long term.
It was John Sharpe who was trying to but the lease off him that wanted the ground share.
As the lease holder it is his decision alone.
