Had to make do with watching it on the telly last night but it looked a fantastic strike from a good thirty yards. He says it's the best goal he's ever scored. Got me thinking about great goals from City players over the years who weren't known as forwards. I recall Ian Gibson scoring against Cardiff at Highfield Road from the same distance,he had both feet off the ground ! any more crackers ?

The classic Ernie Hunt - Willie Carr freekick- Outlawed soon after due to use of both feet for the flick up.

Interesting comparison with Iand Gibson who was often criticised for being " a luxury player".
Personally I'd trade ten Telfer's for one Ian Gibson - a unique talent ……….and Moussa doesn't do ordinary either.:guitar2::claping hands:

All three goals against Arsenal when we beat them 3 v 2 at Highfield Rd. on the 26 th. December 1999.....especially Robbie Keane´s effort when it almost appeared that he had a telescopìc leg.
Fantastic memories

How good did we used to be on the break. Watching that again makes me realise how far we have fallen!

I'd say we were still pretty good on the break.....this season mainly and maybe we haven't been so threatening without Wilson but we aren't too bad

Too many to mention but two that I am really fond of are;

Willo v Newcastle in about '99, 30 yard plus bullet.
Speedie's last minute chip v Norwich at Carrow Rd 89 (the week after Sutton iirc)

David Thompson scored a good few screamers for 25-35 yards out during his time with us.....in fact, every other goal from him was from distance IIRC...
