Yep, would give us great options for the front 5. Still need to fill a gap in the squad left by Maddison's injury plus the release of Swanson. Getting him until Christmas would be ideal. Can't see it though..

One of my favourite players in recent years.

No chance, if he does go out on loan, it will be a short 1 months, play 3-4 games to get fit then back Charlton.

Maddison is back in January, so Moussa would be a nice replacement, short term.

Not for 1 month/30 day loan. Wouldn't be match fit until his loan was up.

Agree with Stu here. If we did get him, he'd take a month or so to get match fit. Which defeats the object of him coming in.

Maybe if he was match fit/not coming back from injury, but out of favour at Charlton, it could work.

Even a month/four games is still worth it for me. If he came here and got a goal or two, it would be successful. I think they would loan him out till Jan. He was never a key player for them before he was injured.

But he's been out for 10 months.

We need players ready to play now, with Maddison and Willis out and any other injuries/suspensions to come. Not be used to get other team's players match fit.

An undoubted talent with an amazing eye for cracking goals .. But don't think he's a Mowbray style of player ,he seems to like his players to track back and put a foot in when needed something moussa never did

Do we need a player that hasn't played for 10 months? Would be a decent chunk of wages as well. Rather see young fit and hungry players In from the Prem than being used as a stop gap to get a player match fit from the champ.

As he's coming back from an injury and needs games ... Charlton may just lower the 'price tag' so that he gets the exercise and run outs he needs, I agree with most posters, with our injuries to Maddison and Willis, this could be a great addition.

How can you say that when we have Jacob Murphy playing for us. He has talent but Murphy is one of the laziest players off the ball I have seen play for us. It's highlighted I suppose because he is the only one in the team who doesn't harass and harry off the ball

Mowbray on Swanson;

“I don’t think anyone could deny his talent as a footballer. There are just other issues, I think, for him to get into our team and play on a regular basis, which is what he wanted to do and I highlighted to him that was probably not going to happen.

“I said to him that in different circumstances I like players with his talent; I like what he can do with a football. I think we’d have to have got him fitter and working harder, and he understands all that.

“With his fitness levels I could only ever see him coming off the bench and trying to impact a match for us.

Seems clear from this and things he's said post match that he expects every player to put a shift in and do their share off the ball.

I'm aware that's his philosophy and that's how we played first few games but Murphy just doesn't do it. He seems exempt for some reason

Agree that moussa would be too lazy, he was at fault for so many goals the season before last.... It seems obvious to me that Murphy has been told to not track back as he is the best player to have on the counter, his pace is electric and he is a real outlet.

Personally think Murphy did well Sunday, few times he ran from inside his own half into theirs relieving the pressure on defence and midfield. I'm aware he hasn't been the hardest of workers but is some of that down to match sharpness? Agree that he is an outlet with his pace and reiterate at times this season he will get us out of trouble when under pressure.

Well a change in manager for one, and a crash down to eath for two.

Although I suspect the same flaws that made Moussa dispensable are still there today. Seems we might have lucked out with him, and got the best spell of his career.

Not sure about that, he certainly got up and down the pitch in the second half. Stokes was exposed for the goal though.

Quality player, any league one club would be fortunate to have him if his injuries haven't taken their toll too much. Had a hard time with injuries at Charlton.

Don't think he will be on Mowbrays radar, can't see Mowbray being the type who will take on loans with the purpose of getting them fit for parent club. Mowbray won't go for a short term loan where the player leaves after 8 games.

murphy was easily 1 of our best players on sunday

the kid is fast becoming 1 of my fav city players

I don't buy into the Moussa hype. He produced moments of brilliance but half the time you barely noticed he was playing.

Isn't it the case that Moussa in the last 5 mins as an impact sub could deliver but if he started the game he was like to let the team down late in the game by not tracking back.
