What do we think? Has he been refusing to play?

I think so, but I'm surprised Pressley hasn't made any comments since the first game he missed (unless I've missed them).

Yes, Pressley has not been shy in the past to mention it has he?

If it is the case, bit of a schoolboy on Moussa's behalf.

Yes. But is it fear of being injured, or has Pressley said as your not committed to the cause?

To be honest, it's been the same for decades, fans get told what they need to know.

Yeah if he's not on it best to look at Marshall as he might actually be here next season, so we need to see what we're letting ourselves in for, good or bad!

It would be a sad end to his time with us, and as was mentioned on another thread (by Grendel I think), especially a shame as we gave him a chance to play when it seemed his career was going nowhere.

No that was me, and Nick jumped on it saying "what, a shame he scored all them goals for us?"

It did sound as though he's been refusing to play. SP said something along the lines of "he trained yesterday and was fine but informed me this morning that he's apparently injured"

Well I think to be fair to Nick you had phrased it badly, which I think you acknowledged.

Because if I remember you made out that we shouldn't have bothered with him and if he is being a cock or not now, his goals could have potentially stopped us from being relegated

I can't remember the post but I think you typed something different to what you meant and then backtracked

Agreed, but still was straight on it

Still wouldn't accept my point after explaining it though

Not really greed though is it, his contract is finishing. Maybe if you'd bought more season tickets the club could have offered him a longer contract.

I remember saying a shame if true

Then you were straight on it with "what, a shame he scored all them goals for us?"

Then when I said no, a shame he's acting this way, you still persisted with saying I was backtracking

Hasn't Elvis been quoted as saying that Moussa has declared himself "unable to play" because of a back injury?:thinking about:

just a shame we gave him a way back in after being dumped by Leicester
To which I said

Why a shame if he has scored goals?

You then backtracked saying:

I mean a shame he's not signing back on when we could use/ need him

What do you mean by still wouldn't accept your point? I couldn't actually see your point to disagree with it but let's not let what really happened get in the way of your shit stirring ay?

Anyway, does this set a standard for the next club? What is stopping him from pulling this trick for them?

Backtracking would be: "oh I didn't mean that".

All of them quotes relate to Rusty's post #6 in a round about way. You knew what I meant. Rusty said : a way back in after his career seemed to be going nowhere. I said: after being dumped by Leicester. I fail to see the difference?

On a side note from another tit for tat argument that you cause: either you went through a lot of effort to get quotes, or you do have what I knew you had access too

Any chance of a reply to a friends missing flag by the way ?

Yes, there is a reply there already. I suggest you PM for things like that so they get dealt with quicker, otherwise they do when the thread gets read.

What do you mean what I have access to? I used the Search Function and found those posts within 30 or 40 seconds at the most by looking for posts containing Leicester made by you.

You pretty much said you didn't mean that when you said you worded it wrong.

Sorry, I'm not a mind reader so can't see what you mean when you say one thing but mean something completely different. You keep shit stirring and starting "tit for tat" arguments

He's had a good season for us, and I'd imagine other clubs will have made enquiries with him. I think most/all clubs realise that this is the modern way with players, so if you don't want to risk giving a long contract then you run the risk of them going for nothing in a short time.

Obviously we're right to be careful giving long contracts as we've learnt they can go wrong, so it's a tricky situation.

Assuming he does go I wish him well, but it is a disappointing end.

It is a bit of a bad way to end, especially with things like awards etc. How do you get excited about a player winning an award at the end of the season after that sort of thing?

As no-one actually knows but we haven't heard too much from the club may suggest that the club have told him that he has no future here and will not be offered a new contract.

maybe a comment in text form is not always put across as someone would intend it? that's a reasonable theory is it not?

so let's set the record straight "It's a shame Moussa has (potentially) feigned injury and been unavailable for CCFC during a survival fight, after CCFC offered him a way to prove himself and a chance to establish a reputation in the footballing world again, despite us fans being grateful of his goal return this season"

and thanks for that re the flag, will remember that when I have a request

I was very emotional when Bellamy picked up the (shared) top scorer award in 2000/01 for his 6 amazing goals (incl penalties).

My view of that has mellowed over the years, but at the time it was a disgrace. He let the team (and supporters) down and basically went on strike, when the club decided not to pay him he got the union involved so he did get his money.

The difference here is the contract is pretty much finished anyway, and I suppose we are also much more used to player power now.

Imagine what would have happened to Rooney after spitting his dummy out to earn 300k per week back in the day?

Ah right, I suppose it made it worse him going to Villa?

Embarrassing for the player if true, Leon Clarke set the standard and now all players think they can get away with it.

In some ways agreed. Obviously the in contract players will generally keep quiet. But Murphy has said he wants to stay to be fair :S

Horrendous that Dion went to the Villa. However it was horrendous that the board tried to sell him to Blackburn. Horrendous that it was not the first time they had done it. Dion was obviously happy here as he was on the fringes of England or at least had been, and had not long signed a new deal with us. Anyhow back to Moussa, I always thought that Pressleys outburst towards loan players and certainothers who might or might not be here next season was aimed squarely at Moussa. His agent would not talk to the club , or get back to them and he is ensuring he does not get injured before going to the championship.

If he doesn't want to play, do we want him? Yes we gave him the chance to resurrect his career and he might find the grass isn't always greener.

But he is probably like a lot of modern players, as long as he has a contract and money coming in he probably isn't bothered whether he actually plays or not...why spoil a good Friday night out!

It reply to the question, yes 100% he's been refusing to play I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the very first players to sign for a new club as soon as the window allows it. Again can't say I blame him at the end of the day he's got his career, family, future to think about and risking that for some club run as badly as ours no matter what chance they have given him simply isn't worth it. Would have been interesting to see if the same situation had occurred had we been pushing or even in a playoff place.
