Eric Black's sacking was bad but booting Sillett for that clown Terry Butcher was the worst. Despite all sillett's achievements there was hardly a grumble as most cov fans expected Butcher to be a success as player manager - how wrong we were

Eric Black. Wouldn't be where we are now if we hadn't give him the boot.

All the Oxford fans thought Wilder was coming to us.

Appleton does not fit in with the model they set out. If they appoint him they will look very sily. We'll all cry also.

Agreed he was treated shamefully. Should have been kept on in some capacity and as you say installing Butcher was a disaster.

I have seen nothing since to make me change my view of the time that Eric Black's sacking was disgusting.
It has been a disaster for the entire club.
whoever was involved with the decision should hang their head in shame.

Most shocking sacking has to be that of Chris Coleman.

We should have sacked him much, much, much earlier.

He couldn't have made the decision on his own.

My biggest head-shaker was the appointment of Jim Smith and subsequent sacking of Nilsson. Mental.

He pretty much did. I used to sit in the VIP area of the main stand and Adrian Heath sat just behind me for Black's last 3 games. McGinnity liked the big name - sacked Nielson as well. Great judgement.

We seem to be focussing on the managers most unjustly sacked.

What was the most shocking appointment? I need to have a think about that one. :thinking about:
