This week we're in Coventry, where we will get to meet to world's most expensivest Donkeys. At a combined value of nearly 20 Million GBP, these two specimens are really a sight to behold and a jewel in the crown of Coventry. Meet Elli and Haji.

I imagine you're that loner at work that's spent years being bullied by their colleagues. They probably called you a donkey, and now you're using the forum as a release?

Well all the time they’re settling in and maybe not reaching the performance levels both they and the club would have hoped, at least they’re putting a spring in your step so every cloud……

I just like donkeys. I don't know why people are getting so preachy and upset. Maybe because Jerry Yates has scored more than both of them.

As much as they haven’t looked great I think it’s more to do with our midfield as it is to do with Wright and Simms. I admit that Wright should be playing right on the shoulder of the last defender more, he has a tendency to drift and not be exactly ready for that through ball but it’s so often that we’re losing the ball in the middle of the park that we’re hardly ever getting clinically into the oppositions final third.

I personally don’t think this sort of “hourglass” formation works, trying to squeeze the ball through midfield hoping that they’ll be no defenders to pick up Wright and Godden, it’s too easy for teams to protect their back line when we’ve not good enough tricky players threading that final through ball into the path of Wright/Godden.

I’m convinced a 5-2-2-1 or even a 5-1-3-1 formation would work better, just put Wright up top and give him through balls to run on to. I think he can be deemed a complete donkey or not then.

Think Ayari will be a big player TBH. The difference when he went off was Hamer esque.

Yeah definitely, imagine him and O’Hare playing as 2 CAMs with 2 CDMs in behind, I think it’ll be a lot better then. The two strikers seem to sort of cancel each other out somehow, just all feels messy up top atm.

I think if Goddens on the pitch they end up playing in service to him. When he’s up to speed I’d like to see a midfield of Ayari Sheaf and O’Hare just to see if it’s got enough energy to cover for positional and defensive frailties then we can still have two up. Otherwise I agree. Just concerned none of our strikers are good enough to play the line striker.

I’m convinced Wright is quick enough and strong enough to play as a lone striker, I just think he’s made for that role. When he’s settled into the club and maybe we try a sole striker formation I think that then we’ll see the best of him, he seems to have too much pace and strength not to be good, we just have to put the through ball on a plate for him to take it forward and score.

Wright, Godden and Ayari were playing in a nice formation, always in a triangle. Then Palmer came on and the shape totally changed.

That was really not an easy chance tbf to him, tight angle, defender running in to close him down, goalie came out to block the shot a bit, yes he could have scored it but it’s a sample size of 1, I think we should give him a bit more of an opportunity than 1 chance to prove himself

My point mainly being that if we created more chances and he scored even just 30% of those chances we would be scoring way way way more goals than we currently are. We’re just not creating enough golden opportunities to score, we’re not clinical in the midfield, it’s all sloppy and misplaced.

I just happen to believe
1) That slating our own players is not productive.
2) That you are the biggest twat on here. (And that is saying something)

Why do you feel the need to insult me? Doesn't really match up with the message You're trying to send?!

Well you do invite it... making up childish rumors and then delighting in the fallout... Slagging off our players at every turn without a thought for the potential damage. You make it easy to dislike you, although I suspect you are not a happy person.
