West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire has called for the resignation of Coventry City Council's leader for "failing to get to grips" with the Ricoh saga.
Councillor Ann Lucas said on Wednesday offers for the Ricoh's freehold would be considered but said the buyer would need to inherit the club's debt too.
But Ms Sinclaire said the authority would get an independent valuation and make it public if it was serious.
Councillor Lucas said Ms Sinclaire was entitled to her opinion.
Ms Sinclaire said no more tax payers' money should be wasted on the Ricoh saga
Calling for her resignation, Ms Sinclaire said: "She is failing to get to grips with the Coventry City Football club saga.
"It's not just a football club question, it's for the whole economy."
Ms Sinclaire said she would support the Ricoh's sale in principle.
"I don't think more tax payers' money should be wasted on it," she added.
"If that's the only viable option - they should sell it."
Councillor Lucas said on Wednesday the city council would listen to "reasonable and sensible offers" for the freehold.
But she stressed the site, which is owned by both the council and the Alan Edward Higgs Charity, would not be sold "unencumbered".

This "woman" really has lost touch with reality.

Someone should ask her exactly how much taxpayers money has been "wasted on it".

All I ever hear from the anti council side is generic vague tripe.

If she was that interested in saving the taxpayer money she would do better in trying to dismantle the European Parliament now that would make a difference Nikki

Talking about taxpayers money, someone should ask her if the Fraud Squad investigation into her expense claims has been completed yet.

She is a publicity seeking idiot that only seeks to push her own agenda. She should keep her own council, preferably in Brussels and let the adults sort it out.

Her seat is up for election in May, so that'll be the end of her political career.

Ms Sinclaire said no more taxpayers money should be wasted on the Ricoh saga. I agree, so why waste money on a valuation when the other side wants something you can't offer (the unencumbered freehold).

No more taxpayers money should be wasted on Ms Sinclaire. Councillors and Council Officers have got better things to discuss.

She is a very misguided sole. The only waste of tax payers money would be in the selling of the RICOH under SISU terms. She may have by some quirk of fate she ended up doing a job for which she has little or no natural ability, but unfortunately she does not have the wisdom as to know when to speak and when to keep quiet. Nikki, a little advice stay quiet until you are sure that what you are about to say isn't total bollocks. Then still stay quiet.

I completely agree. The reaction of Ann Lucas this morning when Shane O'Connor raised Ms Sinclaire's request for a meeting was interesting - she reacted as if he had just pointed out that she had dogshit on her shoe.

If you go on Nikki Sinclair's web page as a MP, the first thing you get is a pop up offering you a chance to buy his book.

I don't defend her, I remove offensive content.

Don't post offensive stuff and it won't get deleted, not a hard concept

There was little offence in the posts you have removed from this thread Nick, has she put the wind up you? A few threats maybe? A thin-skinned politician is a failed one.

Notice the only ones removed were the ones with that content but the others stayed?

Nobody has put the wind up me, some comments are a bit harsh.

I don't think we should be insulting her personally.

The complete lack of substance in her argument is more than enough to criticise her for.

So when I said "Play the ball, not the man or woman", that is a bit harsh?

Are you serious, do you have any sort of life?

I'm sure if I mispelt your name plenty would get prissy. I called one poster said misspelling and he got very prickly. Hardly the same as the sexist phobic drivel you spout is it.

It is a shame that she has all this other baggage as she is such an obnoxious person, in every other way, that it is easy to mock her. However, I get the impression that any reference to Ms Sinclaire's private life is going to be censored by Nick despite it being an important point when it comes to selling her autobiography.

I am considering printing off a couple of copies of this picture and putting them on the fireplace. It would certainly scare my youngest two away saving me from having to tell them off.
