Leon Clarke Latest
According to The People this morning, Coventry City want Leon Clarke back on loan if he joins Wolves.
The paper is claiming that Wolves are offering Clarke a £8k a week wages and a £500,000 signing on fee deal but the Sky Blues want Wolves to pay a fee for the striker and then loan him back.

Thought we were after another of their strikers as part of the deal

Cannot see a single reason why Wolves would even consider this ? Filling some space in the sports section of the paper on a quiet news day methinks

I'm not sure Leon will go to Wolves now anyway. Haven't they recently signed another striker? Was it Waghorn?

Seem Wolves linked with Schlupp from Leicester as well on loan. Like to see us go for Schlupp if Clarke end up going to Wolves.

Steven Pressley says Coventry City’s Leon Clarke could be at the club for “longer than everybody thinks”.

The wantaway striker was back in training this week and preparing to lead the line for the Sky Blues at Preston on Saturday, despite handing in a transfer request on Monday morning.
City rejected an initial bid from Wolves earlier this week but as of this afternoon there had been no fresh offers for League One’s leading scorer.
“There’s been no further bids or contact at this moment in time,” revealed the Coventry boss, who has praised Clarke’s professionalism in remaining focused on his immediate job at City.
“Leon’s trained really well this week. His attitude has been excellent and that’s all I ask of him while he’s at the club. And he might remain here longer than everybody thinks.
“That’s the bottom line and he’ll continue to act in a professional manner. He’s part of the squad and fully in my plans for the weekend.”

It is understood that a possible cash-plus-player deal with City’s League One rivals could hinge on Iceland international Bjorn Sigurdarson coming the other way.
However, regardless of whether Molineux boss Kenny Jackett is prepared to let the 22-year-old forward go, the player would still have to assess his options before any agreement could be reached.
Pressley is pushing ahead with a second striking target, who he’s hoping will give him a decision on whether he wants to join Coventry next week.
“It looks that there’ll be no-one coming in before the weekend, but that could change,” said the 40-year-old.
“The other one that I’m trying to bring in I will hopefully know more on in the early part of next week. That’s when I hope he’ll give me a clear answer.
“There are a few others that we’re looking at but at the moment we are focusing on two, but nothing is close to happening just yet.”

I read this as wolves ask to sign him for free ... offering clarke an unchanged weekly wage plus a sign-on fee.
Are they nuts or is the report ... ehm ... inaccurate?
