Hmmm not sure on this one, if Robins and AV think they can get a tune out of him then I’d be happy with him coming in, at the end of the day we already have Simms and Wright anyone else coming in as a striker would be a backup or have to be genuine quality

We definitely need a third striker with Godden leaving. Imagine if Simms and Wright got injured.

While we are talking about Plovdiv, wasn't there 2 Plovdiv's, Trakia Plovdiv and Locomotive Plovdiv or is my memory playing tricks with me again.

Thats true but their track record suggest they dont really pick up injuries of any severity, if managed correctly they’ll play most games, I agree we need another striker though

Absolutely on board with us signing a striker who hasn't perfected his game technically, but has all the raw attributes!

Pace, power, height, strength, but needs to polish finishing and all round game... who does that sound like?

Can't really sign another top-quality striker as we already have two. Either needs to be an experienced-pro willing to be a back-up or a young player who we can develop.

This guy is clearly the latter - has all the raw attributes & we'd look to develop him over 24 months for when we sell Simms for 30m

Looks like he only uses his right leg to stop him falling over. Raw with attributes but would need s lot of work and would think Obikwu would be worth the effort to fast track him.

Can see this being a project but we need a genuine player proven to fit into the 3rd striker role.

He also plays wide forward so is good cover for all 3 front positions

He does look very left footed but I do like how he drops into the space in front of the oppos defence to receive the ball from his defence or midfield.

What proven player is going to come and warm the bench for most the season as a 3rd striker? I’d class Godden as a ‘proven’ striker but he was unhappy being on the bench every week and useless when he was on the pitch

Simms will be first choice, if he can’t play Wright will play down the middle. Don’t think we’re going to get a ‘proven’ striker at this level who’s happy to be 3rd choice.

This type of player is exactly what we need to replace Golden, raw, not 1st choice and chance to develop.

Clearly know nothing about the player, but the type and profile certainly fits.

30m? He’ll be a Premier league striker next season and add on English tax - it’ll be 70m

If they signed this player i have no problem, as i see attributes in his game. But for me you sign a player on the understanding everyone starts out the team in pre season. You have to learn or know a place is not guaranteed to anyone. Robins and Adi set the culture and drive the standard, if a pro is worth anything they understand this. And if a pro wants a start by just signing a contract, i wouldn't want him. Work for the opportunities and take them, dont cry this is not the fucking dog and duck with chips on the bar after the game.

The sole purpose of a pro is to play 1st team football at the level they are at. If they are not starting, simple try harder or go find your level. Which is why i said Obikwu will be closer to our 1st team than this player. We don't need all projects, we need quality in depth to push each other on..

I didn't say it was easy... Its really hard to recruit the right type. But look hard enough and talk to plenty and you will find gems and we have already found an endless number of them. If we are going to look for this type Tyrese Campbell and Sinclair Armstrong would be where i would look or push Obikwu on.
