I feel a bit sorry for her in truth another fan being used as the fall woman and the centre of fans frustrations in their quest for answers, however last night she made a huge blunder..

Thia comment is taken from the Club site when she was first appointed “Having met with members of the Coventry City Football Club board and the owner, I have seen both their enthusiasm and determination to create a new stadium that brings a range of commercial benefits to the Club."

Although she didn't sound as positive last night “Maybe you do not believe they will build a new stadium, but it looks like they are going to.”

Now the key in the word in the second quote is "looks", I wasn't their last night but having read CT and from what I have been told by Friends Miss Garlick was told to "Stand side by side with other CCFC Fans". For her credibility and respect I would insist that Miss Garlick do this straight away I would hate to see a CCFC Fan be dragged down with Sisu..

Like you say Sandra Garlick is just being used by SISU. For some reason she appears to believe what they say and has jumped in bed with them, I wish I knew what her motivation is.

Sadly when this is all over in months and years to come, she's going to look like a right idiot.

That's the issue Snozz, a local businesswoman with a good reputation and a local business with solid foundations, they don't deserve to be given the red light as it were, my advice would be get out now Miss Garlick before your reputation is damaged beyond repair.

There's a line from the Burton Batman where Nicholson as the Joker says "Ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"

Seems a somewhat relevent question that I'd like to ask ms Garlick.

I fail to see what good will come out that the position she has put herself in. Her comments last night as I have read do not sound certain of SISU's actions.

I don't feel sorry for her one bit. She knew exactly what she was getting into.

Call yourself a city fan Sandra? Id call you a total disgrace.

I'm thinking of creating a committee lads, you see i plan on winning the lottery and was wondering who would like to be on it so you can help me to decide how to spend it. Now you know how hard it is to win, but I do plan on winning it so just believe me, it will happen. However, I'm not sure that my family will be happy when I move them out of Cov.....

Very Machiavellian is the only way I can describe the SISU way of dealing with their customers.

They have bad news that will be very unpopular so in goes the expendable person to deliver it.

Sandra Garlic went into this with her eyes wide open. She's an educated woman to be respected for taking on the role.

I doubt she did the research prior to agreeing to work with the club. Go back to the shareholder's meeting before SISU took over and you'll find SISU's stance of 'distorted reality' was evident then. Ranson described the club as 'debt free', Fisher's non trading football club etc. are other examples. You have two directors saying different things regarding the Ricoh. One says it's plan A and the other saying it's plan B. All this is evidence of weak leadership from the club's directors but also from those pulling their strings from SISU HQ.

As a solicitor trust should be high on Garlic's agenda and I just wonder how on earth she decided to work with people that don't seem able to stop misinformation from being their first priority.

Having dealt with a few football clubs in my time I have seen successful people fall to pieces due to being starstruck at getting involved with a 'famous name club'. Their hearts overrule their heads.

Having heard her on the radio this morning, she may as well have come on and said, blah blah blah for 2 minutes as it would have been about as illuminating as the mindless garbage she came out with.
Apparently in her dialogue with fans, some like to sit behind the goal, whilst others like to sit along the side, who would have guessed.
Some fans have spoken to her about to her about food outlets outside the ground, looks like we maybe getting a burger bar at the 'new ground'. A football ground with fast food outlets outside, this is truly ground breaking stuff.
Meanwhile CWR's very own Jeremy Paxman sat there presumably like Churchill the nodding dog.

She's obviously a very intelligent woman. However, it doesn't take much research to see she's active in the business community, speaking at local events and 'networking' extensively. Self-promotion becomes a fixation with some folk - business cards in every set of clothing, 'just in case'. I know many such people, and their approach - whilst I won't criticise it - is wholly alien to me. I see this appointment as a combination of Ms Garlick trying to do right by the club she obviously cares for, and a huge chunk of 'getting her face out there', as eluded to above.

But in making this judgment on this particular issue, I think she's made a miscalculation of Biblical proportions; and will come to lament the decision to associate herself with this folly

I totally agree. It seems the positive PR she hoped the venture may promote for her is anything but positive.

I actually agree (!) whilst I think there is some altruistic intent and dont doubt her Cov supporting credentials, the impression I got is that she was flattered with the approach and a bit starstruck by the stadium designers and CBRE.
Not anticipating the apathy/bewilderment at trying to get people discussing pie flavour and seat colour whilst the Ricoh remains empty is a massive miscalculation.
The only interesting development would be if SG gets totally frustrated by it all and becomes some sort of fans champion and ditches the whole stadium stuff. More likely she steps down quietely at some point and forgets she was part of this sorry mess.

I find myself agreeing with you too. This simply isn't good enough!

The whole affair strikes me as irrelevant as me ruminating at length over which cigar of celebration I'll treat myself too after I expertly bed Beyonce; following a chance meeting in the Humber Hotel...

I agree 100% if fact I would go further and her misguided involvement in this charade will leave her credibility in tatters, seriously damaging her business.

i guess some will already be smirking behind her back and nudging each other.

How many people actually turned up?
Are Coventarians that naive to fall for another con?
Ms Garlic is a solicitor (bigger crook than the party she represents)!
Why hire a hotel suite for no valid reason & who paid for it?
So what exactly was gained from the forum in terms of a new stadium input?
What exactly will the new commitee be discussing?
Or was it just more PR for Sisu!
Sandra was just the current ring leader in a long line (& well paid, no doubt)!
What was actually discussed about new stadium, other than can't discuss, due to confidentiality clause?
What's changed, cov fans want to stay at Ricoh & that's what seems to come across even after the forum!
What was the point?
Other than:
1) PR by Sisu
2) tactic to scare the council into selling Ricoh for peanuts.
What was the point of having a forum with none of the owners present & not one single plan revealed?
Total waste of time!
No doubt Ms Garlick & co got well rewarded for their time of making fools of Coventry fans yet again!!

Isn't it a bit surreal - a committee to discuss the installation of a brand new state of the art stadium possibly 5 years hence WHEN ffs WE HAVE ALREADY GOT ONE LYING EMPTY WITHIN THE CITY BOUNDARY - it makes the situation look even more ludicrous and unbelievable.

Shouldn't Joy be the one chairing the forum with details of the four plots & asking us fans which we prefer?
That's what I call a new stadium forum, not an unknown legal answering every question with, not responsible, don't know, sorry can't discuss due to confidentiality clause.....
What was the point??

Absolutely Snoz the whole thing is a complete waste of time and energy as it will not happen anyway. So far as Ms. Garlic is concerned she obviously saw this as a way in which to move her business forward but a huge mistake in my opinion.

Does she have a conflict of interest?

If you take ML's word as gospel he has said that they are in advanced talks with 2 local authorities and they have requested impact statements etc. Last night we were told that there are now 4 sites not 2 and as freedom of information has revealed these are neither in Coventry or Warwickshire, unless these local authorities have told out right lies.

So given her position with the Coventry and Warwickshire chamber of commerce she seems to be assisting the removal of a business from Coventry that is not (from the information available) being relocated in Warwickshire.

Sound like a conflict of interest to me.

Think for the sake of her reputation and business she should step down as soon as possible, maybe saying " due to the pressure of work she regrettably has to step down". Let's face it her whole business will be tarnished by this.
Also we already gave the SCG, why do we need her?

The new stadium farce seems to be something that 95% of us agree with. Maybe it will gradually unite us over time as it becomes ever more apparent that they are taking the piss. Whether wittingly or not, Garlick is part of this charade.

Quite apart from self promoting herself as has been mentioned, nobody has eluded to the fact that she may be being a fat fee for services rendered?
