NEWS: Minutes of first Supporters Forum meeting published

Up-date on future stadium plans and the EFL requirements placed on ground sharing with BCFC

The club owner’s preference is for a new stadium and have re-engaged a land agent to identify possible sites. To-date several possible sites have been identified.

The EFL have currently given CCFC the ability to play outside of Coventry for up-to three seasons if necessary, but the EFL will allow CCFC to return to Coventry at any point. The Supporters Forum requested potential involvement/input into any future stadium plan.

Action: Dave Boddy will raise this with the club owners at the appropriate time.

Would be nice if they could publish their land requirements, like most chain stores do, then we could all be land agents (especially me who does this for a living and would love to help out in my own time).

Wouldn't really expect any more than that to be honest. Sure we'd all love to know the sites to check if the actually exist and see if they are in any way viable but no company would realise that sort of information publically.

Fully expect 3 seasons to be extended if needed. The EFL won't kick us out while we have somewhere to fulfil fixtures. Think the hole in the finances will hit home long before any EFL action but that will just mean budget cuts and slipping back down the divisions undoing the good work done recently.

Needs to be big enough for a football stadium! That alone must mean there's not a huge number of options.

More than you’d think to be fair. But “football stadium” is quite a variable. Do we want other uses on site? Where is the search area? What else needs to be near by? Do we need to be outside flood zones? Does the council matter? Are they willing to demolish something? What’s their max RPSF they’re willing to pay?

This is a good point. There have been loads of threads on here where people have identified potential locations and superimposed a ground. If we had more details on the ground requirements, we could pretty much do their job for them!

Yes. It’s not the 3 years we need to worry about. If the EFL are happy with 3, why not 4,5 etc. This could well be a long term thing, be it st Andrews, hawthorns etc.

Really stuck me last night how few kids were there. My first game was a midweek game at highfield rd and was hooked. We can’t afford to lose a generation and we won’t attract any local Birmingham kids to watch us either

The other thing is that a number of our fans are my age from the JH era, in 3 years time I’m in my 80,s you start to be dependent upon others to get you to games. Gradually this becomes more of a pain so people stop going
