Of course everybody knows we had a rubbish squad but on the pitch, can anybody think of times when Thorn made decisions and did things from a management perspective that made people think he had a talent in managing? I could be watching Sunday League and a manager can still make a good decision and read the game and do something about it so it doesn't matter about the players.

He may well be amazing given the tools and I do hope he is this season.

Does anyone watch The Apprentice?

Does anyone notice a pattern in the first couple of episodes of each series where the losing team all sit in the boardroom and blame each other and pick sides and make counter-accusations and their voices gradually get louder and louder until they resemble a room full of bawling toddlers? And then one of the board stops them and tells them they are a bloody disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves?

Well..... Alan Sugar should have stepped in and shut everyone up by now. It's bloody boring.

Saying it's boring is boring to me - Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion and if the Thorn Lovers don't like it they can lump it

Thorn lovers?

So everyone is allowed an opinion, but if they don't fully agree with yours they are a Thorn lover :thinking about:

Yes, and if you don't think he is good as a manager you obviously hate him as a person and want him to be tortured slowly and painfully.

He has a win ratio of 18% this is the worst of any manager since the club became professional in 1918.

Give Lewis Hamilton a Ford Fiesta to race F1 in, and he would have a poor win ratio as well. Doesn't make him a bad driver, just means he has the wrong tools for the job.

Thorn did not have a competitive team for the championship and that is the main reason for the poor win ratio. He did also make some errors which made a contribution but is not the overriding reason.

You need to be careful not to take facts in isolation and use them to fit your own opinion.

If he had a fiesta, he wouldn't be winning up until the last corner and then lose He would be completely hammered which is why I could understand if we lost 5-0 every week that our players just weren't up to it.

Who said that?

Maybe not taking everything into consideration or many other things, but you are taking it a bit far here. People that wanted to see what AT could do on a level playing field have frequently ben called his lovers, family or just plain thick. The middle of the road Cov supporters use the comment AT haters or lovers.

There will always be some at eack end of the scale. We have recently added a few more that can't see what could happen this season and want him gone. Also shouting the loudest. Will this change anyones mind? Not at all. The results this season will though. I give him to Xmas to have us in the top 6. We have a top 6 side, but depending on who joins and leaves before the start of the season.

So you know as a fact it wasn't AT keeping the lads together and giving their best most games that stopped us getting hammered frequently?

The squad was good enough? Will never be able to take you seriously if this is your true view of our squad last season.

Untried academy lads, Fatwood who hasn't given a shit for years at any club, our only striker that was scoring got sold, lack of players so when the injuries started to build up we had to play players not matchfit.....in fact can't be bothered to rise to the bait from you anymore. You are either a WUM or you have unrealistic thoughts about your own club

Nobody knows facts, it is just opinions.

It is a fact that the Fiesta / F1 comparison is rubbish. However, if I was driving a car around a track with 100BHP more than one Lewis Hamilton had then he would easily still beat me as he would be able to get the best out of the car as that is where the skill is.

Has anybody posted about something good on the pitch that AT has done? Does it mean it would make me a good manager if I was in the same situation because my hands were tied?

The squad barely escaped relegation the season before, largely under AB, and then had its spine torn out with the loss of King, Gunnarsson, Turner and Westwood. Fact.

It wouldn't do anyone any good mate - but I am probably more informed that most - a recently departed player is a close friend of my cousin.

There is a lot that would shock the Thorn lovers.

That's funny one of my friends mates is best mate with a player at cov and he says that they are all very happy with Thorn as manager.

I'm not going to back up my claim as I'm sworn to secrecy .....

But I'll say this, there is a lot that would change the way the minority think ....

I know that Thorn had a 3 way with Cranie and Clingan's ladies that is why they didn't sign new contracts.

I can't tell you who told me though

Do we need a "My mate told me that Thorn....." thread?
