The point I'm raising is that Crystal Palace a club who for my lifetime were consistently a smaller/ poorer performing club now are able to bid £32 million for a player. I'm fully aware of the money within the premier league I was merely highlighting that the gap is now a gulf and that it is depressing

Agreed however I think this figure and the club involved is far beyond anything we've seen, there is a significant difference between 10 plus mill and 30 plus millIt's been like this for years though? It's not as if it should be a shock anymore. There's been many clubs who've historically been 'smaller/poorer performing' than us that have spent £10m plus on unknown players. I don't get why this is a shock still.
The amount for a player relatively unknown though is a shock, more than the gulf between 'us and them'.
