Crystal Palace have whopping £32million bid accepted by Marseille for Michy Batshuayi

If this doesn't depress you then nothing will

It does. It is the crazy, mad world of football we live in these days and I think it will only get worse.

You just have to hope that some day it self implodes.

They're in the PL which has access to billions of £'s...I don't get it?

***Sky Blues spending drastically less than a club two divisions higher than them which also happens to be the best league in the world, shocker***

Ah the first sarcastic c##t raises his head on the post, honestly people on this forum would counter anything.

The point I'm raising is that Crystal Palace a club who for my lifetime were consistently a smaller/ poorer performing club now are able to bid £32 million for a player. I'm fully aware of the money within the premier league I was merely highlighting that the gap is now a gulf and that it is depressing

No offence, but why would it depress us? The only thing that should depress us, is why The Premier League have a ridiculous amount of money compared to the Football League.

It's been like this for years though? It's not as if it should be a shock anymore. There's been many clubs who've historically been 'smaller/poorer performing' than us that have spent £10m plus on unknown players. I don't get why this is a shock still.

The amount for a player relatively unknown though is a shock, more than the gulf between 'us and them'.

Nice use of the word c##t by the way.

We also bought the likes of McAllister, Keane, Hadji, Chippo, Huckerby, Whelan, etc. Trouble is it wasn't our money and we fell out of the Premier League at just about the wrong time financially. All downhill ever since.

Agreed however I think this figure and the club involved is far beyond anything we've seen, there is a significant difference between 10 plus mill and 30 plus mill

Fair point, but in 5 years time, we'll be looking back and saying about the gap between £30m and £50m.

Agreed. If it was us instead of Palace who had bought this unknown for £32m, would we as fans be ecstatic? Now this bloke might turn out to be a world beater but the door has been open for some time clubs are paying ridiculous amounts for average players and the agents and hangers on enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle thank you very much. Mind you there is a perverse pleasure in watching 'real' football down in Division Three

It is ridiculous, won't be long before we have the first 100 million player earning
£500,000 per week.

Jess cost big money, scored1 league goal in a whole year - sold 12 months later for a huge loss, Telfer was strachan's mate that helps explain why he played so much, ran around a lot but lacked ability, was once asked about how it felt to play against Man U and all their superstars to which he replied that he doesn't follow football so doesn't know who they are - maybe had he watched Becks etc.. he might have learned who to cross a ball

Not Depressed about them signing him particularly, more depressing is that an English club see fit to sign an unkown Belgian for £30 odd Mill rather than invest time and money in English talent and then wonder why we can't cope at international tournaments.
