Looks like everyone has forgotten this. As someone previously said, there's two sides to every story

All I can say as my (likely) parting statement on this thread is that I have been going to matches all over the place for 40 yrs now. And I have never had a copper be anything like approaching twat status with me. I have seen them take on people who have "done nothing" but get spotted throwing a bottle; thumping an apparent innocent; tipping a car over; nick a scarf; taunt the police with foul language from perceived safety in numbers...& several other things that probably didn't deserve the response the police chose.
It's simple really...in the main (always the odd exception to the rule) behave like a twat & you're likely to get twatted by someone - be it a copper or opposing fan!

Wouldn't fancy the wall in the play offs should we get there. Be carnage.

I ve also attended numerous football matches and been out on the piss all over the country, met some coppers with a bad attitude but yet to get that kicking. Been lucky by the sound of it.
What i have witnessed is some superhuman restraint shown by some in the most tense and provoking situations. The other problem is a lot of what football fans consider "boys being boys" is not palatable to wider society like when our fans smashed up the facilities in the cup game but it was just seen as a bit of high jinks

I am talking about this getting justified that
"some coppers attacked an old man in the crowd for no reason "

Keep any eye on the upper tier as well
I am sure they completely understood and were outraged at the treatment of the old man. Which caused them to want to get downstairs so quick and not the chance to kick and punch a police officer they have never met before and know nothing about 

The most telling part of that video is the people in the hospitality boxes, slightly richer morons egging on slightly poorer morons

Some American's are horrified that Police officers are expected to enter in to combat unarmed.

Well, I guess, unless it's for 'fun'...

Lets get one thing straight theres good and bad in all walks of life and occupations but 99% of police officers dont go out there looking for agro. Yes 40 years ago policing was a different kettle of fish but in this day and age the majority of police would rather just get home without any agro after their shift. Some people on here amaze and its obvious they have an axe to grind with the police for various reasons but to say police officers go out their way to assault inocent members of the public is as stupid as football violence.

The problem is those people who like to have a dig at the police at every oportunity are the same people that are the first to call them for help when theyve given it the biggan and then regret it when they get a pasting. Watch the video of the derby issues again and take not of the idiots goading and giving it the big i am because they dont like to abide by the law. They get everything they deserve im afraid and

they wonder why the police couldnt give a shit
