From the Millwall fans forum......

From someone who obviously left early, ‘You can lose at home but getting done 3-0 twice already is unacceptable’

Praise, ‘I was fucking fuming walking out of there tonight but putting our woes aside you have to tip your hat to Coventry and Lampard as much as I don’t like the c**t’

Less praise, ‘Don't think Coventry were that great, very well organised and pass the ball around well but everything was made far too easy for them by us’

Even less praise, ‘Coventry were poor but they can still finish and took their chances’

And my favourite, ‘Especially as I’m in a pub nr Coventry tonight listening to these cnts’

We certainly weren't at our fluid best, but there's no way we were 'poor' - that's just very sour grapes

We may not have been ‘brilliant’ but you don’t win 4-0 by accident.
I was really impressed despite Millwall being half decent in attack I thought.

I thought some of their build-up play was decent and they could keep possession well.

However, the reason they aren’t scoring isn’t down to luck. They don’t create many clear cut chances and they have players in forward positions that make the wrong decisions a lot.

Lots of their fans online thought they were better than us. If games are won based on possession maybe that would be the case? Realistically we could have scored even more goals than we did. They could have grabbed one at the end I guess?

So we were poor and Birmingham were robbed when we beat them 3-0. We were poor again against Millwall, but beat them 4-0.

What next, Oxford fans/manager spitting their dummy out and saying it was a close game for the 7-0?

Football is a strange phenomenon.

It's just something fans do to cope, "they beat us but they were still shit." It's been done on here too and sometimes it's true tbf especially when we've been undone by our own calamity keeping or something, but 3-0, 4-0 etc aren't accidents.

Think that's fair.

We were clearly the better team in the first half, but we never looked in full control in the second, despite the eventual scoreline. They came out well, but we got that crucial second goal.

But, we didn't play that well, but still won 4-0.

The signs are good. Didn’t think we were even close to our best and we still gave them a hiding. Didn’t feel too different after the Birmingham game either.

I thought Millwall were alright 2bh. Their final ball was woeful, but generally caused us a few problems. They were unlucky with the two decent saves by rushworth - ball bounced around and somehow ended up with him

I thought Millwall actually stretched us especially at the start of the second half. Their one touch football was excellent and their wingers were a real threat. Their right winger missed a good chance in the first half when he scuffed his shot.
However, their final balls were poor and they rarely got an overload in our area, whereas we did for the Simms (deadly from zero yards) goal. Also we should have had a pen and Torp was playing with an injury. There were several times we broke in the first half and passes from Torp, Tatsu and Eccles (I think) were just not right else we would have been through on goal.
Our goalie was solid theirs looked shaky. Ditto our centre backs. Our strikers were clinical, theirs were off form.
If you win 4-0 you are not lucky, although if they had scored at 1-0 it may have been different.

It’s funny how we watch games though. I can understand that fans see if differently from different sides. I take almost no notice of the opposition and rarely notice any single player. For me it’s more about the feeling I have, whether I feel nervous or confident etc. Last night I never really felt we wouldn’t win apart from 10 minutes after half time I thought they might equalise.

Also my Millwall supporting mate didn’t think they were that good, reckoned they wouldn’t have scored for hours if hey carried on playing. He agreed that we were hardly out of second gear.
