Amazing how many have an epiphany after being exposed for being a tw@ - lots of sympathy above, so perhaps the below link for balance!

Very true. But also amazing how at 26 he has never mentioned anything then all of a sudden after being involved he wants to share stories regarding anxiety and depression. If it's genuine then it shouldn't be mocked, but I doubt that I'm the only old cynic on here who believes the timing to be more than a little convenient.

For balance... even I knew of his battles before this offence.

It's not a case of he's saying he's battling this after he threw a punch, please go steady on me.

Nothing like making a assumption is there!

Didn't he go to court pleading guilty etc? It would be a bit extreme to invent a mental illness over such a small charge.

You're missing my point. I'm not suggesting that it's made up or that he or his managers are covering anything. My suggestion is that a) he is possibly exaggerating the condition for personal gain, b) he's a tw@ who gets involved in scraps outside nightclubs and c) the timing of the admission was convenient. More power to anyone suffering who feels they can talk about it, but to balance out that sympathy of an opposing player on Saturday, I was sharing that he wasn't saintly and less deserving of our sympathy ... and he's from Leicester!

What personal gain is he getting though from speaking about it?

Has he tried to blame the incident on a mental illness or went to court to try and use that to get away with it? From what I read he went there, pleaded guilty and let the legal system sort it out.

It says he went to work on a building site with his dad as well, it all seems a bit extreme to take the focus away from him punching somebody outside a club?

Yes pleaded guilty, plus the fact that the guy jumped over railings to square up to Lee Tomlin says he bitten off more than he could chew.

If you did then fine - but where? The earliest mention I can find of his 'battle' was July last year. The incident was first reported in January last year. If you can link me an article on his struggle that pre-dates the offence, then please post and I'll happily stand corrected. He's still a tw@ and from Leicester though

Your making something of nothing I'm afraid. The lad did wrong yes as he threw a punch and pleaded guilty to this.

He didn't need to speak out about his troubles as he was only gonna get a slap on the wrist for it reading the articles on the incident

a) Character rebuilding for someone in the public eye
b) he spoke about it between the incident and the trial, so presumably on advice that it could help be more lenient (imo). GBH could carry a custodial.

Should I take that as a no then?

He went to court because he punched somebody who jumped over a barrier to get at him and his mate. It's not on the Luke McCormick / Lee Hughes scale of trying to rebuild character is it?

It's not really the sort of thing to then exagerate a mental illness about is it? If it was to then come out that it was exaggerated and half of it is bollocks then that's much worse. It would be a pretty big act to keep up.

He punched somebody who went for him / his mate on a night out from what I can see. It's still a different circumstance to him giving a random bloke a pasting for no reason etc.

You can take it as what you like. I've not searched for anything to say I'm correct but this was not my sauce of knowledge.

You can ether take it as it's true from me as a person who's never claimed to know this...that.. or spoke crap or carry on in your own beliefs and view.

It's of no bother to me either way.

What equation has lead you to that conclusion?

I did say a high probability, not a certainty, based on Accrington have been as inconsistent as any side in the top seven earlier in the season, they are on a good run now, but are possibly only one or two injuries away from another mediocre run. Also they have one of the toughest run-ins of all the promotion contenders. From memory we have beaten Wycombe the last twice we have played them (league & checkatrade trophy). Neither team is as good as either Luton, Swindon, Mansfield or us at full strength, (and when we don't get distracted by cup games). Only my opinion though, no equation involved.

As I said MR take notice how to play against the league 2 teams who defend deep with 2 banks of players on the break. Patient build up across the back line side to side wait for a gap to appear and midfield to break though and thread the ball to the front men

Fine on a decent pitch. Do you really want our full backs stroking the ball across to our centre halves on the Ricoh surface - it's a no from me ! On a nice flat surface, then I'm all for it.

Lincoln drawing at the moment (HT at Cambridge), so we are down to 9th.

Obviously hope that is very much temporary.

Good result for us if it stays a draw. They drop two points.

A draw tomorrow which is a must not lose, we can go up to 6th depending on other results! must pick up a point at least!
The two directly above us played a game more also.

Yep. A defeat for Lincoln would be better, but a draw's okay.

Yes take a nil nil, especially as they took almost 2000 fans there ! definitely.
Main thing is they dropping points.
The two teams above us and 3 below all have played a game more.

Derry sacked by Cambridge immediately after the game.
Sounds like they've had new owners in,although that may have been a while back.

Days, didn’t see that coming.

I thought he only just signed a new contract. That’s a bit harsh. They are smack bang mid table. Surprising.

Yeah, I recall Eakin mentioning when we played them that he was under pressure.

Would say 0-0 at home to Lincoln isn't a bad result at all.

I suppose it’s a last desperate throw at trying to challenge for Play offs. New manager bounce.
