I understand covering up the Wasps livery in the tunnel but the stuff around the pitch side seems a bit of a wasted exercise to me. Especially when I take my seat in block 18 if I look to the across at the opposite stand there's 2 huge wasps badges mounted on the walls above the seating. Are we covering these up as well? They're a damn sight more noticeable than the ones around the pitch sides.

Pretty sure the club would be better off concentrating it's time, money and efforts on other things.

Like painting city badges and branding the training ground as much as possible CCFC so the players understand the club, the badge and the history?

Time, money and effort?
It would take 30 seconds to cover then and then remove and the end of the game and could be done by the ball boy, groundsman or the people who change the advertising boards from game to game, surely they have a few CCFC flags lying around somewhere which could be used or could get a couple of CCFC mats made for less than £20.

Ideally the ones on the wall would be covered up as well but that would actually be time, money and effort and I also suspect Wasps wouldn't like those ones being covered either.

Why are people so desperate for them to remain, beggars belief.

Also why do they go to the trouble of replacing the wasps advertising boards with pusb ones every game if these things don't matter?

And why are fans sticking up pictures of city players around the ground??

That's already been done and well publicised. Do keep up Nick. If they're going to cover up anything it should be all the Wasps branding in the tunnel, assuming that the club aren't already doing this.

You must remember the thread when the pictures of the rebranded tunnel was released? Ironically when I suggested to the posters who were spitting feathers about it that the club could spend money on mats and some sort of screens for the walls with CCFC branding I got shot down in flames with cries of why should we, it will be too expensive, wasps won't allow us to do it etc. by many of the same posters who are suggesting that we should do exactly just that on some emblems on the pitch surrounds that you barely notice in comparison to the gigantic emblems plastered on the walls above seating opposite where the majority of us sit.

I would guess that's for commercial reasons. I.e. they haven't paid to advertise at CCFC game.

I agree, in theory I'd love for the ground to be wasps free but it's not that viable with the ones high up or the stuff outside unless they were digital like the scoreboard so could press a button and change.

If something can be covered with temporary solutions then why not?

I think when wingy said it would cost thousands people thought twice, it would cost hardly anything to cover those.

I just don't see the point of covering up the little ones when you can still see the huge ones that can't be covered up. What is it changing exactly?

I'm pretty sure those Wasps emblems aren't on display in the tunnel for a CCFC match, I remember Wasps official twitter tweeting it in reply to a Coventry fan at the time. If they are, they shouldn't be but I'm 99% sure they aren't there on our matchday.

Yes ideally the large ones on the wall would be covered up also, but that would actually take time, money and effort. The ones around the pitch are a simple fix so give me a reason why it shouldn't be done?

Because when we play there we should be minimising Wasps branding and increase ccfc branding on the 23 days we play there, simple really.

Because the ones around the pitch will be more visible to players as they will see them everytime they go to retrieve the ball for a throw/corner/goalkick

From a personal point of view the ones around the pitch are always in you peripheral vision when looking at the pitch, whereas I've trained myself now to not look at the top corner on the opposite stand.

3 good reasons there

What your point?

I was making a point just because Wasps are owners and just because they can do something doesn't make it right or mean they should do it.

He's just doing his village idiot impression.

I'm guessing he's responding to my hypothetical Wasps spray paint a penis on the pitch scenario, which was used to make a point that just because they can do something and are within there rights to do so, doesn't mean they should or make it ok to do so.

Oh yes. Shall we change it from you saying that people want to keep the Wasps signs up to something else as nobody wants the Wasps signs? But there again I could be wrong and you will come out with where people have been saying what you accuse them of for once.

Why can't some of you understand that the only party to blame in selling the Arena to Wasps is the one who sold it.

Coventry City Council sold it.

Coventry City Council extended the leasehold by 200 years to sell it

Not the truth though is it? SISU put ACL in financial trouble to try and get the arena plus freehold whilst offering no money other than a donation. They found someone that would pay money for it. Yet you say that no fault lays with SISU at all?

Your off again

What donation did they offer for the council share.

Please provide some evidence this was made available to them at all.

I see that you are on a day of being a WUM again.

So when I say that they refused to make a bid or even negotiate with CCC you act the idiot and say that I make out that they make a charitable donation to CCC

Donation for Higgs, CCC part valueless. Nothing but freehold from CCC would do. But you knew that.

There are enough people blaming CCC for everything. If SISU offered more but CCC said no there would be proof put on here by now. But as Stu says some want to change history.
