perhaps the poorest midfield that we've had for years, and agreed- as is always trotted out- 'we have no money to buy anyone', but Pressley has chosen more to bolster the attack. Agreed, a great showing from both debutants at the empty Ricoh on saturday, but we still conceded twice from winning positions. In my opinion, this is because our midfield is poor and we cant defend. New winger on the way however so perhaps that's something at least.
Anyway what do i know? eh.

Fleck was abysmal on Saturday, he didnt want any responsibility on the ball and often played a 3 yard pass to Finch who in turn didnt offer much movement. The Rochdale lads were able to pick up the ball and run with it many times from a keeper roll out. I think Finch once went over the halfway line to press the ball and we ended up creating a chance from it.

I really have no idea where the anti Fleck feeling has come from. Fleck is at worst average in the odd gane and is the only player who can pick a pass. He basically is our midfield.

How many passes did he pick on Saturday? When was the last time he influenced a game with his passing or running on the ball (which he is perfectly good at) like the Rochdale lads on Saturday? Its not Anti Fleck, its merely saying we need another option cos at the minute he aint cutting it.

Fleck haf a great game at Walsall and he certainly was nt as bad as some people say on Saturday albeit he was nt great. He is good going forward but as he recently said in an interview , " the gaffer does nt want me going too far forward" Unfortunately at the moment he is not alowed to play his normal game he s being told he play defensively, I m sure he d love to get forward.

I am surprised that SP has suddenly decided to look for wingers, yet we have played this far in the season with no width.

He turned down Petrasso in the summer, and sent Coulibally packing, but now wants to play with wide players.

I'm all for thinking about our forward play, but I think we need to look at the middle of the park too!

His pass completion on Saturday must have been less than 50%, he was even misplacing his 5 yard passes, let alone long range ones. And this is the exact same role he played last season, just that he had moussa, baker, clarke and wilson making him look good.

So he had a great game vs walsall, he had far more poor-average ones than good ones this season. I really don't get why he is exempt from criticism or being dropped after poor performances.
