Let’s hope Marcus Evans approaches the Cowley brothers and rocks the Lincoln set up like Swindon and more notably Mansfield have found.

I’m sure they’d see the job out at Lincoln but will undoubtedly take the wind out there sails a fraction.

It may have been a bit dull but he’s actually done a good job at Ipswich. Spent hardly anything on transfers and still competed above their level. He might be exactly what those two clubs need. Stability.

When Ranson took over he should have tried to recruit McCarthy or Warnock instead of his dickhead mate in an Armani suit.

Warnock would have been perfect then as he had a football man to deal with, I can’t imagine him putting up with fisher and the old witch for long

Indeed. Ranson is more of a shark than SISU.

Wouldn’t have mattered if we had warnock and he got us promoted.

Also did ranson sell borrowdale and maybe Gray players that people like fisher would have paid off instead (he may not have done this but I can’t be bothered to look at 3.15am)

Ranson was probably given too much leeway but once again that’s what you get from owners who you couldn’t trust to run a bath let alone a football club.

Ipswich fans are getting their just desserts now after hounding Mccarthy out.

Paul Hurst: Ipswich Town sack manager after less than five months

backed Ipswich to go down at 7/2.
Man had to reduce the wage bill massively and still finished in a respectable mid table position yet they still wanted a play off place and free flowing football, football supporters are fucking idiots.

And Hurst likewise for dropping Shrewsbury. Similar to the ex Barnsley manager who fucked off to Leeds

tbf to him, Shrewsbury weren't likely to have as good a season again this time round.

And then he'd be sacked a division lower down.

They are properly in the shit. A real nothing club, happy to survive in the championship and not aspire to anything better

Mmm, be careful what you wish for. Always thought McCarthy has done a decent job wherever he has been but I guess we were looking from afar and not watching the football served up every week. The straw that broke the camels back was probably when he called the fans “numb skulls”. I’m afraid there’s no coming back from that.

McCarthy is one of those managers like Big Sam - absolutely HAS to get results because the style they play will not win you fans or get you any leeway. Once they lose two or three on the bounce the knives are out. Doesn't help you with funds for new players because it's a style that will definitely make the casual/part time supporter stop going.

It used to be OK to play that way to get promoted and maybe even keep you up for a season or two but nowadays it's just about good enough for upper mid table in Championship- maybe play-offs in a poor year - but you won't win anything.

No, should have been a bit more professional though and kept it to himself. Maybe that was a get out for him and he had had enough anyway.

Met the man in a pub before a Peterborough away game, he was in there with Elliot and Hoffman and his lad. They were very friendly and welcoming.......he however came over as an arrogant twat.
