Seeing the story on him in today`s CT on his induction into the posh hall of fame. I thought I`d give my own personal appreciation of his time at CC FC..

He was right up there for me among my favourite players to wear a sky blue shirt. He was often (too often imo) left out of the 1st 11 and then brought on as an impact player. Many`s the time he did just that, unsettling an opposing defence which had looked solid until his introduction, by running at them instead of taking the easy option of laying the ball back or across the park. It`s true he sometimes ran up blind alleys, but for me it was all worth it for the way he played, always looking to attack and he brightened up many a game with his darting runs, and the goals he chipped in with came in handy too.

I met him in 2010 and had a long conversation with him, and found him to be a top bloke too.

Inducted into the Posh HOF. Was on the pitch on Saturday before the game.

I knew he was on the pitch on sat but it was the personal tribute bit. Plus I couldn't find a link on the CET at the time.

Met him at an end of season do arranged by some group that I think preceded the SBT in 2001 just after we were relegated (or it might have been the year after...) in some dingy pub near Highfield Road. All I remember is me being battered and repeatedly kissing his bald head and telling him I loved him, until my dad prised me off him so he could have some peace.

Great servant for the club and a true sky blue legend. Just wish he'd scored that 1 on 1 against Clemence in extra time, it would have made those last few minutes so much more enjoyable.

Every team needs at least one player who can run with the ball to unsettle the opposition. He was unlucky not to score in the Cup final !

I remember the first time I saw him, came on as a sub at Luton. As soon as he got the ball he just sprinted off on a 40 yard dash driving at the heart of their defence. Everyone just went who is he? How much pace has he got?

Nicely done. Entirely appreciate the sentiment entirely btw, Gynn was a real favourite in his playing days so just my paranoia on overdrive. Glad he's still with us.

Interesting, what he says about Bobby Gould:

“I’ll never forget the day Coventry City let me go – or the manner in which they ended my time at the club. It was a two-minute meeting with manager Bobby Gould in 1993. He called me into his office and said they wouldn’t be offering me a contract and that they were getting rid of me.
