123 average could have been 139 if he had hit double 18 earlier on.

Better in terms of the darting level he'll reach... probably.

Better in terms of longetivity... doubt it.

On his day brilliant but the last 2 world champs show he is nowhere near the consistent domination that Taylor had.

I dont think Taylors dominance will ever be repeated, more televised tournaments than ever, brings with it more professionalism and more players at the elite level.

It used to be that if Taylor was having a bad week you (and he) would still expect him to win the tournament, however if MVG has a bad day he can be easily beaten by Lewis, Taylor, Anderson, Wade, Barney.

He is clearly extremely talented and a peak MVG vs a peak Taylor would be a 50/50 game in my opinion, but his attitude/temperment (currently) and the level of the 2nd tier players around him would suggest he wont have the dominance that Phil had.
