Scored 2 tonight for Swindon against Luton.

He scored 2 on Saturday as well.

Pressley said the other day in the telegraph that Swindon's valuation for him is too high

I thought from this quote we have clearly enquired about him. By all accounts Swindon are pretty skint so he will be sold to someone I suspect and probably for about £500k. I am encouraged by the fact it says offers rather than offer.

Sounds like we were or still are interested but couldn't meet Swindons valuation, so either we increase our offer to match the valuation which is unlikely or Swindon lower their asking price.

The Club has to be smart here with bidding Michael Smith, if Smith is a long term target for Pressley then I am sure he might be with us by he end of the Window.

Looks like they only signed him permanently in January. Not surprised they don't want to let him go. And he seems to score.

He was signed by them for 100k and has done well I believe so you would think we would need about 300k at least

Its a Nightmare having people like Fox, Dann, Westwood Gunner Cody.

I guess for every Barton and Eastwood there is a greater positive from signing people.

@ Nick.......He makes it sound like SISU have bought loads of players over their 7 years tenure. More to the point, how many players have they sold or let walk(For nothing)

I would wait until they say "he is not for sale", that usually means he is on his way for talks. ;-)

McDonald was signed to score goals in the championship and the fact you rate him as a success in the championship is frankly absurd.

How about a few other signings? Richard wood, Carl baker (like McDonald out if his depth in the championship) David bell, sammy clingan and I'm sure there are many more I've forgot.

Where does that confidence come from? I'm not being funny, but if other clubs are interested and we get into a bidding war when was the last time we secured a player in a scenario such as that?

So, by your own logic, I can assume that you want the team filled with the likes of Manset, Slager, O'Halloran and Beuzelin?

Can we stop this silliness now?

What it shows then, is our scouting network has been poor or non existent for sometime?

Smith is 22 and knows how to score. Would be a good signing. Problem is that Swindon will know we got good money for Wilson and will use that against us.

Still think we need to replace Wilson's pace up front though.

Or Moussa, Clarke, Fleck. Etc

It's a two way street in both cases. We've made good and bad signings whether we pay a fee or don't.

Edit - not sure if we paid a nominal fee for Fleck

He'd be a terrific signing, would help us in this league and potentially a player who's worth will increase in coming seasons. As we seemingly did get a decent fee for Wilson, I just hope we're not penny pinching on a player who could score some of the goals the Wilson-Clarke hole leaves.

If we are genuinely, to reinvest some of the fees we are in receipt of; this kind of player, at his age is exactly what we need to be looking at

@ fernandopartridge.........You sure of everything you say, yet you're "Not sure" if we paid a nominal fee for Fleck.....We had to because of the circumstances surrounding Rangers name change. Ask Grenduffy, he'll give you a better "Estimation" than I can....It's said to be between £300k-£500k.

Do you ever stop licking SISU's arse about how much they spend in transfer fees?

He was a free. He had the option not to transfer his contract to the Rangers newco and as such was a free agent.
